San Simón el Zelote fue uno de los doce apóstoles. Llamado “el Zelote” o “el Cananeo” para distinguirlo de Simón Pedro, pudo haber pertenecido al movimiento zelote judío. La tradición dice que fue martirizado junto con el apóstol Judas en Persia.
