50/81 – Joyful Mysteries
We contemplate Mary and Joseph bringing the Infant Jesus to the Temple, fulfilling the Law of Moses. Simeon receives the Child in his arms and blesses God, while Anna prophesies redemption. Yet Simeon also foretells sorrow: "A sword shall pierce thy soul."
This mystery teaches obedience. The Holy Family, exempt from the Law's obligation, submits to it out of reverence. True obedience is harmony with divine order. The obedient heart offers its will as Mary offered her Son: freely, entirely, joyfully.
