4. The Carrying of the Cross
50/81 – Sorrowful Mysteries
We contemplate Christ bearing His cross through the streets of Jerusalem. He falls, rises, walks again. Simon of Cyrene helps Him; Veronica wipes His face; women weep. He accepts each gesture of pity yet continues toward Calvary.
This mystery teaches patience and endurance. Every life has its cross; holiness means carrying it. To continue under weight and exhaustion without bitterness is divine. Each step with the cross defeats despair.
