42:1 Hierauf führte er mich hinaus, und zwar in den inneren Vorhof (und dann) in der Richtung nach Norden, und brachte mich zu den (beiden) Zellengebäuden, die dem eingefriedigten Platz gegenüber und dem Hintergebäude nach Norden gegenüber lagen, das eine auf dieser,

42:1 And he brought me forth into the outward court by the way that leadeth to the north, and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the separate building, and over against the house toward the north.

42:2 das andere auf der andern Seite. Die Länge (der Zellengebäude) betrug hundert Ellen und die Breite fünfzig Ellen.

42:2 In the face of the north door was the length of hundred cubits, and the breadth of fifty cubits.

42:3 Gegenüber den zwanzig Ellen des inneren Vorhofs und gegenüber dem Steinpflaster des äußeren Vorhofs lief eine Galerie vor der andern hin in drei Stockwerken.

42:3 Over against the twenty cubits of the inner court, and over against the pavement of the outward court that was paved with stone, where there was a gallery joined to a triple gallery.

42:4 Vor den Zellen aber befand sich ein Gang von zehn Ellen Breite und hundert Ellen Länge; und ihre Türen lagen nach Norden zu.

42:4 And before the chambers was a walk ten cubits broad, looking to the inner parts of a way of one cubit. And their doors were toward the north.

42:5 Die obersten Zellen waren aber, weil die Galerien ihnen einen Teil des Raumes wegnahmen, schmaler als die untersten und die mittleren des Gebäudes;

42:5 Where were the store chambers lower above: because they bore up the galleries, which appeared above out of them from he lower parts, and from the midst of the building.

42:6 denn sie waren dreistöckig, hatten aber keine Säulen wie die Säulen auf dem äußeren Vorhof; darum war von den untersten und mittleren Zellen Raum weggenommen.

42:6 For they were of three stories, and had not pillars, as the pillars of the courts: therefore did they appear above out of the lower places, and out of the middle places, fifty cubits from the ground.

42:7 Eine Mauer aber war da, die an der Außenseite, den Zellen gleichlaufend, in der Richtung nach dem äußeren Vorhof hin lief; soweit sie den Zellen entlang lief, betrug ihre Länge fünfzig Ellen;

42:7 And the outward wall that went about by the chambers, which were towards the outward court on the forepart of the chambers, was fifty cubits long.

42:8 denn die Länge der Zellen, die nach dem äußeren Vorhof zu lagen, betrug fünfzig Ellen, während sie dem Tempel gegenüber hundert Ellen betrug.

42:8 For the length of the chambers of the outward court was fifty cubits: and the length before the face of the temple, a hundred cubits.

42:9 Unterhalb dieser Zellen aber befand sich der Eingang von Osten her, wenn man zu ihnen vom äußeren Vorhof her kam,

42:9 And there was under these chambers, an entrance from the east, for them that went into them out of the outward court.

42:10 am Anfang der Mauer des Vorhofs. (Als er mich dann) nach Süden zu (geführt hatte, sah ich, daß dort) vor dem eingefriedigten Platz und vor dem Hintergebäude ebenfalls Zellen lagen,

42:10 In the breadth of the outward wall of the court that was toward the east, over against the separate building, and there were chambers before the building.

42:11 vor denen sich ein Gang befand und die dasselbe Aussehen hatten wie die Zellen auf der Nordseite, ebenso lang und ebenso breit wie jene; auch bezüglich ihrer Ausgänge und Einrichtungen waren sie völlig gleichartig; und wie ihre Eingänge,

42:11 And the way before them was like the chambers which were toward the north: they were as long as they, and as broad as they: and all the going in to them, and their fashions, and their doors were alike.

42:12 so waren auch die Eingänge der Zellen, die nach Süden zu lagen: ein Eingang am Anfang des Weges, der nach dem äußeren Vorhof führte, gegen Osten, wo man hineinkam.

42:12 According to the doors of the chambers that were towards the south: there was a door in the head of the way, which way was before the porch, separated towards the east as one entereth in.

42:13 Da sagte er zu mir: »Die Zellen an der Nordseite und die Zellen an der Südseite, die vor dem eingefriedigten Platz liegen, das sind die heiligen Zellen, in denen die Priester, die dem HERRN nahen dürfen, die hochheiligen Gaben essen sollen; dort sollen sie das Hochheilige niederlegen, sowohl das Speisopfer als auch das Sünd- und das Schuldopfer, denn es ist eine heilige Stätte.

42:13 And he said to me: The chambers of the north, and the chambers of the south, which are before the separate building: they are holy chambers, in which the priests shall eat, that approach to the Lord into the holy of holies: there they shall lay the most holy things, and the offering for sin, and for trespass: for it is a holy place.

42:14 Wenn die Priester eintreten – sie dürfen aber nicht aus dem Heiligtum (unmittelbar) in den äußeren Vorhof hinaustreten –, so sollen sie dort ihre Gewänder niederlegen, in denen sie den Dienst verrichtet haben; denn diese sind heilig: sie sollen andere Kleider anziehen und dann erst sich nach dem für das Volk bestimmten Raume begeben.«

42:14 And when the priests shall have entered in, they shall not go out of the holy places into the outward court: but there they shall lay their vestments, wherein they minister, for they are holy: and they shall put on other garments, and so they shall go forth to the people.

42:15 Als er nun mit der Ausmessung der inneren Tempelbauten fertig war, führte er mich hinaus in der Richtung nach dem Tor zu, dessen Vorderseite gegen Osten lag, und maß den ganzen Umfang aus.

42:15 Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner house, he brought me out by the way of the gate that looked toward the east: and he measured it on every side round about.

42:16 Er maß die Ostseite mit der Meßrute aus: fünfhundert Ruten Länge im ganzen;

42:16 And he measured toward the east with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds with the measuring reed round about.

42:17 dann wandte er sich nach Norden und maß die Nordseite: fünfhundert Ruten Länge im ganzen; dann ging er herum

42:17 And he measured toward the north five hundred reeds with the measuring reed round about.

42:18 und maß die Südseite: fünfhundert Ruten Länge im ganzen.

42:18 And towards the south he measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed round about.

42:19 Dann ging er nach der Westseite herum und maß: fünfhundert Ruten nach der Meßrute;

42:19 And toward the west he measured five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.

42:20 auf allen vier Windrichtungen nahm er die Messung vor. Der ganze Tempelbezirk hatte ringsum eine Mauer von fünfhundert Ruten Länge und fünfhundert Ruten Breite, um den heiligen Raum von dem unheiligen zu scheiden.

42:20 By the four winds he measured the wall thereof on every side round about, five hundred cubits and five hundred cubits broad, making a separation between the sanctuary and the place of the people.
