6:1 Im Todesjahre des Königs Ussia sah ich den Allherrn auf einem hohen und ragenden Throne sitzen, während seine Säume das Heiligtum füllten.

6:1 In the year that king Ozias died, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne high and elevated: and his train filled the temple.

6:2 Seraphe standen über ihm; jeder von ihnen hatte sechs Flügel: mit zweien bedeckte er sein Antlitz, mit zweien bedeckte er seine Beine, und mit zweien flog er;

6:2 Upon it stood the seraphims: the one had six wings, and the other had six wings: with two they covered his face, and with two they covered his feet, and with two they flew.

6:3 und der eine rief dem andern beständig die Worte zu: »Heilig, heilig, heilig ist der HERR der Heerscharen! Die ganze Erde ist seiner Herrlichkeit voll!«

6:3 And they cried one to another, and said: Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God of hosts, all the earth is full of his glory,

6:4 Dabei erbebten die Grundlagen der Schwellen von ihrem lauten Rufen, und das Haus füllte sich mit Rauch.

6:4 And the lintels of the doors were moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

6:5 Da rief ich aus: »Wehe mir, ich bin verloren! Denn ich bin ein Mann mit unreinen Lippen und wohne inmitten eines Volkes mit unreinen Lippen; und nun habe ich den König, den HERRN der Heerscharen, mit meinen Augen gesehen!«

6:5 And I said: Woe is me, because I have held my peace; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people that hath unclean lips, and I have seen with my eyes the King the Lord of hosts.

6:6 Da flog aber einer von den Seraphen auf mich zu und hatte in der Hand eine glühende Kohle, die er mit einer Zange oben vom Altar genommen hatte.

6:6 And one of the seraphims flew to me, and in his hand was a live coal, which he had taken with the tongs off the altar.

6:7 Er berührte mit ihr meinen Mund und sagte: »Siehe, nachdem diese (Kohle) deine Lippen berührt hat, ist deine Schuld von dir gewichen und deine Sünde getilgt!«

6:7 And he touched my mouth, and said: Behold this hath touched thy lips, and thy iniquities shall be taken away, and thy sin shall be cleansed.

6:8 Darauf hörte ich die Stimme des Allherrn sagen: »Wen soll ich senden, und wer wird unser Bote sein?« Ich antwortete: »Hier bin ich, sende mich!«

6:8 And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send? and who shall go for us? And I said: Lo, here am I, send me.

6:9 Da erwiderte er: »Gehe hin und sage zu diesem Volk: ›Ihr sollt immerfort hören und doch kein Verständnis haben, und ihr sollt immerfort sehen und doch nicht erkennen!‹

6:9 And he said: Go, and thou shalt say to this people: Hearing, hear, and understand not: and see the vision, and know it not.

6:10 Mache das Herz dieses Volkes verstockt und seine Ohren schwerhörig und bestreiche ihm die Augen, damit es mit seinen Augen nicht sieht und mit seinen Ohren nicht hört und sein Herz nicht zur Erkenntnis gelangt, und es sich nicht bekehrt und sich nicht Heilung verschafft.«

6:10 Blind the heart of this people, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes: lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted and I heal them.

6:11 Da fragte ich: »Wie lange, Allherr?« Er antwortete: »Bis die Städte verwüstet liegen ohne Bewohner, und die Häuser menschenleer dastehen, und das Land nur noch öde Wüste ist;

6:11 And I said: How long, O Lord? And he said: Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land shall be left desolate.

6:12 und bis der HERR die Einwohner weit weggeführt hat und die Verödung inmitten des Landes sich weithin erstreckt.

6:12 And the Lord shall remove men far away, and she shall be multiplied that was left in the midst of the earth.

6:13 Und wenn dann nur noch ein Zehntel darin übrig ist, so soll dieses noch einmal der Vertilgung anheimfallen wie eine Terebinthe und wie eine Eiche, von denen nach dem Fällen nur noch ein Wurzelstock übrigbleibt: ein heiliger Same ist sein Wurzelstock.«

6:13 And there shall be still a tithing therein, and she shall turn, and shall be made a show as a turpentine tree, and as an oak that spreadeth its branches: that which shall stand therein, shall be a holy seed.
