62:1 Dem Musikmeister über die Jeduthuniden; ein Psalm Davids.

62:1 A psalm of David while he was in the desert of Edom.

62:2 Nur (im Aufblick) zu Gott ist meine Seele still: von ihm kommt meine Hilfe;

62:2 For he is my God and my saviour: he is my protector, I shall be moved no more.

62:3 nur er ist mein Fels und meine Hilfe, meine Burg: ich werde nicht allzusehr wanken.

62:3 How long do you rush in upon a man? you all kill, as if you were thrusting down a leaning wall, and a tottering fence.

62:4 Wie lange noch lauft ihr Sturm gegen einen Mann, wollt ihn niederschlagen allesamt wie eine sinkende Wand, eine dem Einsturz nahe Mauer?

62:4 But they have thought to cast away my price; I ran in thirst: they blessed with their mouth, but cursed with their heart.

62:5 Ja, von seiner Höhe planen sie ihn zu stoßen; Lügen sind ihre Lust; mit dem Munde segnen sie, doch im Herzen fluchen sie. SELA.

62:5 But be thou, O my soul, subject to God: for from him is my patience.

62:6 Nur (im Aufblick) zu Gott sei still, meine Seele! Denn von ihm kommt meine Hoffnung;

62:6 For he is my God and my saviour: he is my helper, I shall not be moved.

62:7 nur er ist mein Fels und meine Hilfe, meine Burg: ich werde nicht wanken.

62:7 In God is my salvation and my glory: he is the God of my help, and my hope is in God.

62:8 Auf Gott beruht mein Heil und meine Ehre; mein starker Fels, meine Zuflucht liegt in Gott.

62:8 Trust in him, all ye congregation of people: pour out your hearts before him. God is our helper for ever.

62:9 Vertraut auf ihn zu aller Zeit, ihr Volksgenossen, schüttet vor ihm euer Herz aus: Gott ist unsere Zuflucht. SELA.

62:9 But vain are the sons of men, the sons of men are liars in the balances: that by vanity they may together deceive.

62:10 Nur ein Hauch sind Menschensöhne, ein Trug sind Herrensöhne; auf der Waage schnellen sie empor, sind allesamt leichter als ein Hauch.

62:10 Trust not in iniquity, and cover not robberies: if riches abound, set not your heart upon them.

62:11 Verlaßt euch nicht auf Erpressung und setzt nicht eitle Hoffnung auf Raub; wenn der Reichtum sich mehrt, so hängt das Herz nicht daran!

62:11 God hath spoken once, these two things have I heard, that power belongeth to God,

62:12 Eins ist’s, was Gott gesprochen, und zweierlei ist’s, was ich vernommen, daß die Macht bei Gott steht.

62:12 And mercy to thee, O Lord; for thou wilt render to every man according to his works.

62:13 Und bei dir, o Allherr, steht auch die Gnade: ja, du vergiltst einem jeden nach seinem Tun.
