68:1 Dem Musikmeister, von David ein Psalm, ein Lied.

68:1 Unto the end, for them that shall be changed; for David.

68:2 Gott steht auf: da zerstieben seine Feinde, und die ihn hassen, fliehen vor seinem Angesicht.

68:2 As smoke vanisheth, so let them vanish away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

68:3 Wie Rauch verweht, so verwehst du sie; wie Wachs zerschmilzt vor dem Feuer, so kommen die Gottlosen um vor Gottes Angesicht;

68:3 And let the just feast, and rejoice before God: and be delighted with gladness.

68:4 die Gerechten aber freuen sich, jubeln vor Gottes Angesicht und frohlocken voller Freude.

68:4 Sing ye to God, sing a psalm to his name, make a way for him who ascendeth upon the west: the Lord is his name. Rejoice ye before him: but the wicked shall be troubled at his presence,

68:5 Singet Gott, lobsingt seinem Namen, machet Bahn ihm, der durch Wüsten einherfährt

• ›HERR‹ ist sein Name –, und jauchzet vor seinem Angesicht!

68:5 Who is the father of orphans, and the judge of widows. God in his holy place:

68:6 Ein Vater der Waisen, ein Richter der Witwen ist Gott in seiner heiligen Wohnstatt.

68:6 God who maketh men of one manner to dwell in a house: Who bringeth out them that were bound in strength; in like manner them that provoke, that dwell in sepulchres.

68:7 Gott verhilft den Vereinsamten zum Hausstand, führt Gefangne heraus zum Wohlergehn; doch Widerstrebende müssen wohnen in dürrem Land.

68:7 O God, when thou didst go forth in the sight of thy people, when thou didst pass through the desert:

68:8 Als du auszogst, Gott, an der Spitze deines Volkes, einherschrittest durch die Wüste: (SELA)

68:8 The earth was moved, and the heavens dropped at the presence of the God of Sina, at the presence of the God of Israel.

68:9 da bebte die Erde, da troffen die Himmel vor Gottes Angesicht, der Sinai dort vor dem Angesicht Gottes, des Gottes Israels.

68:9 Thou shalt set aside for thy inheritance a free rain, O God: and it was weakened, but thou hast made it perfect.

68:10 Regen in Fülle ließest du strömen, o Gott; dein Eigentumsvolk, sooft ermattet es war: du machtest es wieder stark.

68:10 In it shall thy animals dwell; in thy sweetness, O God, thou hast provided for the poor.

68:11 Deine Herde fand Wohnung darin, durch deine Güte stelltest du, Gott, die Schwachen wieder her.

68:11 The Lord shall give the word to them that preach good tidings with great power.

68:12 Der Allherr ließ Siegesruf erschallen

• der Siegesbotinnen war eine große Schar –:

68:12 The king of powers is of the beloved, of the beloved; and the beauty of the house shall divide spoils.

68:13 »Die Könige der Heere fliehen, sie fliehn, und die Hausfrau teilt die Beute aus.«

68:13 If you sleep among the midst of lots, you shall be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and the hinder parts of her back with the paleness of gold.

68:14 »Wollt ihr zwischen den Hürden liegen bleiben?« – »Die Flügel der Tauben, mit Silber überzogen, und ihr Gefieder gelblich schimmernd von Gold.« –

68:14 When he that is in heaven appointeth kings over her, they shall be whited with snow in Selmon.

68:15 »Als Könige dort der Allmächtge zerstreute, da fand ein Schneegestöber statt auf dem Zalmon.«

68:15 The mountain of God is a fat mountain. A curdled mountain, a fat mountain.

68:16 Du Gottesberg, Basansberg, du gipfelreicher Berg, Basansberg:

68:16 Why suspect, ye curdled mountains? A mountain in which God is well pleased to dwell: for there the Lord shall dwell unto the end.

68:17 warum blickt ihr neidisch, ihr gipfelreichen Berge, auf den Berg, den Gott zum Wohnsitz erkoren? Ja, ewig wird der HERR dort wohnen.

68:17 The chariot of God is attended by ten thousands; thousands of them that rejoice: the Lord is among them in Sina, in the holy place.

68:18 Der Kriegswagen Gottes sind vieltausendmal tausend; der Allherr ist unter ihnen, ein Sinai an Heiligkeit.

68:18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive; thou hast received gifts in men. Yea for those also that do not believe, the dwelling of the Lord God.

68:19 Du bist zur Höhe aufgefahren, hast Gefangene weggeführt, hast Gaben unter den Menschen angenommen; ja auch die Widerstrebenden müssen wohnen bei Gott dem HERRN.

68:19 Blessed be the Lord day by day: the God of our salvation will make our journey prosperous to us.

68:20 Gepriesen sei der Allherr! Tag für Tag! Uns trägt der Gott, der unsre Hilfe ist. SELA.

68:20 Our God is the God of salvation: and of the Lord, of the Lord are the issues from death.

68:21 Dieser Gott ist uns ein rettender Gott, und Gott der HERR weiß Rat auch gegen den Tod.

68:21 But God shall break the heads of his enemies: the hairy crown of them that walk on in their sins.

68:22 Ja, Gott zerschmettert das Haupt seiner Feinde, den Haarscheitel dessen, der in seinen Sünden einhergeht.

68:22 The Lord said: I will turn them from Basan, I will turn them into the depth of the sea:

68:23 Der Allherr hat verheißen: »Aus Basan bring’ ich (sie) heim, ja bringe (sie) heim aus den Tiefen des Meeres,

68:23 That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thy enemies; the tongue of thy dogs be red with the same.

68:24 auf daß du in Blut deine Füße badest und die Zunge deiner Hunde an den Feinden sich letze.« –

68:24 They have seen thy goings, O God, the goings of my God: of my king who is in his sanctuary.

68:25 Man hat, o Gott, deinen Festzug gesehn, den Festzug meines Gottes, meines Königs, im Heiligtum:

68:25 Princes went before joined with singers, in the midst of young damsels playing on timbrels.

68:26 An der Spitze zogen Sänger, dahinter Saitenspieler inmitten paukenschlagender Jungfrauen:

68:26 In the churches bless ye God the Lord, from the fountains of Israel.

68:27 »In Versammlungen preiset Gott, den Allherrn, ihr aus Israels Born!«

68:27 There is Benjamin a youth, in ecstasy of mind. The princes of Juda are their leaders: the princes of Zabulon, the princes of Nephthali.

68:28 Dort schritt Benjamin hin, der Jüngste, der sie doch beherrscht hat, die Fürsten Judas nach ihrer großen Menge, Sebulons Fürsten, die Fürsten von Naphthali.

68:28 Command thy strength, O God confirm, O God, what thou hast wrought in us.

68:29 Entbiete, o Gott, deine Macht, erhalte in Kraft, o Gott, was du uns erwirkt hast!

68:29 From thy temple in Jerusalem, kings shall offer presents to thee.

68:30 Um deines Tempels willen müssen Könige dir Geschenke hinauf nach Jerusalem bringen.

68:30 Rebuke the wild beasts of the reeds, the congregation of bulls with the kine of the people; who seek to exclude them who are tried with silver. Scatter thou the nations that delight in wars:

68:31 Bedrohe das Tier des Schilfrohrs, die Rotte der Stiere samt den Völkerkälbern, die mit Silberbarren sich unterwerfen; zerstreue die Völker, die Freude an Kriegen haben!

68:31 Ambassadors shall come out of Egypt: Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands to God.

68:32 Kommen werden die Edlen aus Ägypten, Äthiopien eilt mit vollen Händen Gott entgegen.

68:32 Sing to God, ye kingdoms of the earth: sing ye to the Lord: Sing ye to God,

68:33 Ihr Königreiche der Erde, singet Gott, lobsinget dem Allherrn, SELA,

68:33 Who mounteth above the heaven of heavens, to the east. Behold he will give to his voice the voice of power:

68:34 ihm, der einherfährt im höchsten Himmel der Urzeit! Horch! Er läßt seine Stimme erschallen, den rollenden Donner!

68:34 Give ye glory to God for Israel, his magnificence, and his power is in the clouds.

68:35 Gebt Gott die Macht! Über Israel waltet seine Hoheit und seine Macht in den Wolken.

68:35 God is wonderful in his saints: the God of Israel is he who will give power and strength to his people. Blessed be God.

68:36 Furchtbar bist du, Gott, von deinem Heiligtum aus! Israels Gott, er ist’s, der Macht verleiht und Stärke seinem Volk: gepriesen sei Gott!
