7:1 And Solomon built his own house in thirteen years, and brought it to perfection.

7:1 Aber an seinem eigenen Hause baute Salomo dreizehn Jahre lang, bis er seinen Palast ganz vollendet hatte.

7:2 He built also the house of the forest of Libanus; the length of it was a hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty cubits, and the height thirty cubits: and four galleries between pillars of cedar: for he had cut cedar trees into pillars.

7:2 Er erbaute nämlich das Libanonwaldhaus, das hundert Ellen lang, fünfzig Ellen breit und dreißig Ellen hoch war, auf vier Reihen von Zedernsäulen, und auf den Säulen ruhten Balken von Zedernholz.

7:3 And he covered the whole vault with boards of cedar, and it was held up with five and forty pillars. And one row had fifteen pillars,

7:3 Eine Decke von Zedernholz befand sich über den Tragbalken, die auf den Säulen lagen, zusammen fünfundvierzig, fünfzehn in jeder Reihe.

7:4 Set one against another,

7:4 Und Durchblicke waren da in drei Reihen, und die Lichtöffnungen lagen einander gegenüber, dreimal.

7:5 And looking one upon another, with equal space between the pillars, and over the pillars were square beams in all things equal.

7:5 Alle Türen und Lichtöffnungen waren viereckig, im Durchblick; und die Lichtöffnungen lagen einander gegenüber, dreimal.

7:6 And he made a porch of pillars of fifty cubits in length, and thirty cubits in breadth: and another porch before the greater porch, and pillars, and chapiters upon the pillars.

7:6 Sodann erbaute er den Säulensaal, der fünfzig Ellen lang und dreißig Ellen breit war; eine Halle mit Säulen und eine Treppe befand sich davor. –

7:7 He made also the porch of the throne wherein is the seat of judgment; and covered it with cedar wood from the floor to the top.

7:7 Weiter erbaute er den Thronsaal, in dem er Recht sprach, den Gerichtssaal; der war mit Zedernholz getäfelt vom Fußboden bis an die Decke. –

7:8 And in the midst of the porch, was a small house, where he sat in judgment of the like work. He made also a house for the daughter of Pharao (whom Solomon had taken to wife) of the same work, as this porch;

7:8 Sodann sein eigener Palast, in dem er wohnte, im zweiten Vorhof einwärts vom Thronsaal, war ein Bau von derselben Art. Auch für die Tochter des Pharaos, die Salomo geheiratet hatte, baute er einen Palast gleich jener Halle.

7:9 All of costly stones, which were sawed by a certain rule and measure, both within and without: from the foundation to the top of the walls, and without, unto the great court.

7:9 Alle diese Bauten waren aus Prachtsteinen aufgeführt, die nach Quadermaß behauen und innen wie außen mit der Säge zugeschnitten waren, und zwar vom Grund an bis zu den Gesimsen und von außen bis zu dem großen Vorhof.

7:10 And the foundations were of costly stones, great stones of ten cubits or eight cubits.

7:10 Die Fundamente aber bestanden aus gewaltig großen Steinen, aus Blöcken von zehn Ellen und solchen von acht Ellen Länge;

7:11 And above there were costly stones of equal measure hewed, and in like manner planks of cedar.

7:11 und darüber lagen Prachtsteine, die nach Quadermaß zugehauen waren, und Zedernbalken.

7:12 And the great court was made round with three rows of hewed stones, and one row of planks of cedar, which also was observed in the inner court of the house of the Lord, and in the porch of the house.

7:12 Der große Vorhof aber war rings mit einer Mauer umgeben, die aus drei Lagen Quadersteinen und einer Lage Zedernbalken bestand; ebenso war es auch bei dem inneren Vorhof am Tempel des HERRN und bei dem Vorhof am Säulensaal des Palastes.

7:13 And king Solomon sent, and brought Hiram from Tyre,

7:13 Darauf sandte der König Salomo hin und ließ Hiram von Tyrus holen.

7:14 The son of a widow woman, of the tribe of Nephthali, whose father was a Tyrian, an artificer in brass, and full of wisdom, and understanding, and skill to work all work in brass. And when he was come to king Solomon, he wrought all his work.

7:14 Dieser war der Sohn einer Witwe aus dem Stamme Naphthali, sein Vater aber war ein tyrischer Kupferschmied. Er war ein hochbegabter, einsichtsvoller und kunstsinniger Mann, der sich auf die Herstellung von Erzarbeiten jeder Art verstand. Dieser Mann kam also zum König Salomo und führte alle Erzarbeiten für ihn aus.

7:15 And he cast two pillars in brass, each pillar was eighteen cubits high: and a line of twelve cubits compassed both the pillars.

7:15 So stellte er die beiden ehernen Säulen her: achtzehn Ellen war die eine Säule hoch, ein Faden von zwölf Ellen umspannte sie, und ihre Dicke betrug vier Finger; inwendig war sie hohl; und ebenso machte er die zweite Säule.

7:16 He made also two chapiters of molten brass, to be set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits:

7:16 Auch fertigte er zwei aus Erz gegossene Knäufe an, um sie oben auf die Säulen zu setzen; jedes dieser beiden Kapitelle hatte fünf Ellen Höhe.

7:17 And a kind of network, and chain work wreathed together with wonderful art. Both the chapiters of the pillars were cast: seven rows of nets were on one chapiter, and seven nets on the other chapiter.

7:17 Zur Bekleidung der Kapitelle, die sich oben auf den Säulen befanden, dienten Flechtwerke von kettenartig gearbeiteten Schnüren.

7:18 And he made the pillars, and two rows round about each network to cover the chapiters, that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and in like manner did he to the other chapiter.

7:18 b und ebenso verfertigte er sie für das andere Kapitell.

7:19 And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars, were of lily work, in the porch of four cubits.

7:19 Die Kapitelle, die sich oben auf den Säulen befanden, waren in Form von Lilien gearbeitet, in der Vorhalle, vier Ellen.

7:20 And again there were other chapiters on the top of the pillars above, according to the measure of the pillar over against the network: and of pomegranates there were two hundred, in rows round about the other chapiter.

7:20 a Und Kapitelle waren auf den beiden Säulen auch oberhalb nahe bei dem Wulst, der nach der Seite des Flechtwerks ging.

7:21 And he set up the two pillars in the porch of the temple: and when he had set up the pillar on the right hand, he called the name thereof Jachin: in like manner he set up the second pillar, and called the name thereof Booz.

7:21 Er stellte diese Säulen am Eingang zur Vorhalle des Tempels auf; die eine Säule, die er rechts aufstellte, nannte er Jachin, und der anderen, die er links aufstellte, gab er den Namen Boas.

7:22 And upon the tops of the pillars he made lily work: so the work of the pillars was finished.

7:22 Oben auf den Säulen aber war ein lilienförmiges Gebilde; und damit war die Herstellung der Säulen vollendet.

7:23 He made also a molten sea, of ten cubits, from brim to brim, round all about; the height of it was five cubits, and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about.

7:23 Hiram fertigte auch das aus Erz gegossene Meer, das von einem Rande bis zum andern zehn Ellen maß, ringsum gerundet und fünf Ellen hoch; eine Schnur von dreißig Ellen war erforderlich, um es ganz zu umspannen.

7:24 And a graven work, under the brim of it, compassed it for ten cubits going about the sea: there were two rows cast of chamfered sculptures.

7:24 Unterhalb seines Randes waren Gebilde von wilden Gurken angebracht, die es rings umgaben, je zehn auf die Elle; sie bildeten einen Kranz um das Becken, zwei Reihen Gurken, die gleich beim Guß mitgegossen worden waren.

7:25 And it stood upon twelve oxen, of which three looked towards the north, and three towards the west, and three towards the south, and three towards the east: and the sea was above upon them, and their hinder parts were all hid within.

7:25 Es ruhte auf zwölf Rindern, von denen drei nach Norden, drei nach Westen, drei nach Süden und drei nach Osten gewandt waren; das Becken aber lag oben auf ihnen, und die Hinterseite war bei allen Rindern nach innen gekehrt.

7:26 And the laver was a hand breadth thick: and the brim thereof was like the brim of a cup, or the leaf of a crisped lily: it contained two thousand bates.

7:26 Die Dicke (der Wand) des Beckens betrug eine Handbreite, und sein Rand war wie die Arbeit eines Becherrandes geformt, nach Art einer blühenden Lilie. Es faßte zweitausend Bath.

7:27 And he made ten bases of brass, every base was four cubits in length, and four cubits in breadth, and three cubits high.

7:27 Er fertigte auch die zehn Gestühle aus Erz; jedes dieser Gestühle war vier Ellen lang, vier Ellen breit und drei Ellen hoch.

7:28 And the work itself of the bases, was intergraven: and there were gravings between the joinings.

7:28 Die Gestühle waren aber folgendermaßen gearbeitet: sie hatten Stege, und zwar Stege auch zwischen den Leitersprossen;

7:29 And between the little crowns and the ledges, were lions, and oxen, and cherubims; and in the joinings likewise above: and under the lions and oxen, as it were bands of brass hanging down.

7:29 auf den Stegen aber, die zwischen den Leitersprossen waren, befanden sich Löwen, Rinder und Cherube, und ebenso an den Leitersprossen oben und unten; unterhalb der Löwen und Rinder waren Kränze in Form von Gewinden angebracht.

7:30 And every base had four wheels, and axletrees of brass: and at the four sides were undersetters, under the laver molten, looking one against another.

7:30 Jedes Gestühl hatte vier eherne Räder und eherne Achsen, und an seinen vier Ecken befanden sich Aufsätze, die unterhalb des Beckens angegossen waren; jenseits eines jeden waren Gewinde.

7:31 The mouth also of the laver within, was in the top of the chapiter: and that which appeared without, was of one cubit all round, and together it was one cubit and a half: and in the corners of the pillars were divers engravings: and the spaces between the pillars were square, not round.

7:31 Sein Auflager befand sich innerhalb der Aufsätze und ragte eine Elle darüber hinaus; sein Auflager war rund, in Gestell-Arbeit, anderthalb Ellen im Durchmesser; und auch an dem Auflager war Bildwerk angebracht, seine Stege aber waren viereckig, nicht rund.

7:32 And the four wheels, which were at the four corners of the base, were joined one to another under the base: the height of a wheel was a cubit and a half.

7:32 Die vier Räder befanden sich unten an den Stegen, und die Halter der Räder waren an dem Gestühl befestigt, und jedes Rad war anderthalb Ellen hoch.

7:33 And they were such wheels as are used to be made in a chariot: and their axletrees, and spokes, and strakes, and naves, were all cast.

7:33 Die Räder waren wie Wagenräder gearbeitet; ihre Halter und Felgen, ihre Speichen und Naben – alles war Gußwerk.

7:34 And the four undersetters, that were at every corner of each base, were of the base itself, cast and joined together.

7:34 An den vier Eckpfosten jedes Gestühls befanden sich vier Aufsätze, die aus einem Guß mit dem Gestühl waren.

7:35 And on the top of the base, there was a round compass of half a cubit, so wrought that the laver might be set thereon, having its gravings, and divers sculptures of itself.

7:35 Oben auf dem Gestühl war eine Art Gestell, eine halbe Elle hoch, rund ringsum; und oben auf dem Gestühl war der Aufsatz mit seinen Haltern, die das Becken stützten, seine Halter und Stege aus einem Guß mit ihm.

7:36 He engraved also in those plates, which were of brass, and in the corners, cherubims, and lions, and palm trees, in likeness of a man standing, so that they seemed not to be engraven, but added round about.

7:36 Auf die Tafeln und Stege grub er Bildwerk von Cheruben, Löwen und Palmen ein, soweit leerer Raum bei ihnen vorhanden war, und Gewinde ringsum.

7:37 After this manner, he made ten bases, of one casting and measure, and the like graving.

7:37 Auf diese Weise stellte er die zehn Gestühle her; alle hatten denselben Guß, dasselbe Maß und dieselbe Gestaltung. –

7:38 He made also ten lavers of brass: one laver contained four bates, and was of four cubits: and upon every base, in all ten, he put as many lavers.

7:38 Dann fertigte er zehn eherne Kessel, von denen jeder vierzig Bath faßte und jeder einen Durchmesser von vier Ellen hatte; auf jedes der zehn Gestühle kam ein solcher Kessel.

7:39 And he set the ten bases, five on the right side of the temple, and five on the left: and the sea he put on the right side of the temple, over against the east southward.

7:39 Von den Gestühlen stellte er fünf auf der Südseite und fünf auf der Nordseite des Tempels auf; das große Wasserbecken aber erhielt seinen Platz auf der Südostseite des Tempels.

7:40 And Hiram made cauldrons, and shovels, and basins, and finished all the work of king Solomon in the temple of the Lord.

7:40 Weiter fertigte Hiram die Töpfe, Schaufeln und Sprengschalen an und vollendete so alle Arbeiten, die er für den König Salomo am Gotteshause herzustellen hatte,

7:41 The two pillars and the two cords of the chapiters, upon the chapiters of the pillars: and the two networks, to cover the two cords, that were upon the top of the pillars.

7:41 nämlich zwei Säulen mit den beiden kugelförmigen Knäufen oben auf den Säulen sowie die zwei Geflechte zur Bekleidung der beiden kugelförmigen Kapitelle oben auf den Säulen;

7:42 And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks: two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the cords of the chapiters, which were upon the tops of the pillars.

7:42 und die vierhundert Granatäpfel für die beiden Flechtwerke: zwei Reihen Granatäpfel für jedes Flechtwerk;

7:43 And the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases.

7:43 ferner die zehn Gestühle nebst den zehn Kesseln auf den Gestühlen,

7:44 And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea.

7:44 und das eine große Wasserbecken mit den zwölf Rindern unter dem Becken;

7:45 And the cauldrons, and the shovels, and the basins. All the vessels that Hiram made for king Solomon, for the house of the Lord, were of fine brass.

7:45 sodann die Töpfe, Schaufeln und Sprengschalen. Alle diese Kunstwerke, die Hiram dem König Salomo für den Tempel des HERRN fertigte, waren von geplättetem Erz.

7:46 In the plains of the Jordan, did the king cast them in a clay ground, between Socoth and Sartham.

7:46 In der Jordanaue hatte der König sie gießen lassen an der Furt von Adama, zwischen Sukkoth und Zarethan.

7:47 And Solomon placed all the vessels: but for its exceeding great multitude the brass could not be weighed.

7:47 Salomo ließ aber alle diese Metallarbeiten ungewogen wegen ihrer übergroßen Menge; das Gewicht des Erzes wurde nicht festgestellt.

7:48 And Solomon made all the vessels for the house of the Lord: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, upon which the loaves of proposition should be set:

7:48 Ferner ließ Salomo alle die Ausstattungsgegenstände und Geräte anfertigen, die zum Tempel des HERRN gehörten: den vergoldeten Altar und den vergoldeten Tisch, auf dem die Schaubrote lagen;

7:49 And the golden candlesticks, five on the right hand, and five on the left, over against the oracle, of pure gold: and the flowers like lilies, and the lamps over them of gold: and golden snuffers,

7:49 weiter die Leuchter, nämlich fünf auf der rechten und fünf auf der linken Seite vor dem Allerheiligsten aus gediegenem Gold, dazu die Blüten, Lampen und Lichtscheren aus Gold;

7:50 And pots, and fleshhooks, and bowls, and mortars, and censers, of most pure gold: and the hinges for the doors of the inner house of the holy of holies, and for the doors of the house of the temple, were of gold.

7:50 weiter die Becken, Messer, Sprengschalen, Schüsseln und Räucherpfannen aus gediegenem Gold. Was schließlich die Angeln an den Türflügeln im Innenraum des Tempels, des Allerheiligsten, sowie an den Türflügeln des Großraumes des Tempels betrifft, so waren sie von Gold.

7:51 And Solomon finished all the work that he made in the house of the Lord, and brought in the things that David, his father, had dedicated, the silver and the gold, and the vessels, and laid them up in the treasures of the house of the Lord.

7:51 Als nun alle Arbeiten, die der König Salomo für den Tempel des HERRN hatte herstellen lassen, fertig waren, ließ Salomo auch die Weihgeschenke seines Vaters David hineinbringen; und zwar legte er das Silber, das Gold und die Geräte in die Schatzkammern des Tempels des HERRN.
