14:1 And I beheld: and lo a Lamb stood upon mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty-four thousand, having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads.

14:1 Nun hatte ich ein Gesicht: ich sah nämlich das Lamm auf dem Berge Zion stehen und mit ihm hundertvierundvierzigtausend, die seinen Namen und den Namen seines Vaters auf ihrer Stirn geschrieben trugen.

14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the noise of many waters and as the voice of great thunder. And the voice which I heard was as the voice of harpers, harping on their harps.

14:2 Und ich hörte einen Schall aus dem Himmel wie das Rauschen vieler Wasser und wie das Rollen eines starken Donners; zugleich aber klang der Schall, den ich hörte, wie der von Harfenspielern, die auf ihren Harfen spielen.

14:3 And they sung as it were a new canticle, before the throne and before the four living creatures and the ancients: and no man could say the canticle, but those hundred forty-four thousand who were purchased from the earth.

14:3 Sie sangen ein neues Lied vor dem Throne und vor den vier Lebewesen und den Ältesten, und niemand konnte das Lied (singen) lernen außer den Hundertvierundvierzigtausend, die von der Erde erkauft sind.

14:4 These are they who were not defiled with women: for they are virgins. These follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were purchased from among men, the firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.

14:4 Diese sind es, die sich mit Weibern nicht befleckt haben, denn sie sind jungfräulich rein; diese sind es, die dem Lamme nachfolgen, wohin es auch gehen mag. Diese sind aus der Menschheit als Erstlingsgabe für Gott und für das Lamm erkauft worden,

14:5 And in their mouth there was found no lie: for they are without spot before the throne of God.

14:5 und in ihrem Munde ist keine Lüge gefunden worden: sie sind ohne Fehl.

14:6 And I saw another angel flying through the midst of heaven, having the eternal gospel, to preach unto them that sit upon the earth and over every nation and tribe and tongue and people:

14:6 Dann sah ich einen anderen Engel hoch oben mitten am Himmel fliegen, der den Bewohnern der Erde und allen Völkerschaften und Stämmen, Sprachen und Völkern eine ewiggültige Heilsbotschaft zuverlässig zu verkündigen hatte.

14:7 Saying with a loud voice: Fear the Lord and give him honour, because the hour of his judgment is come. And adore ye him that made heaven and earth, the sea and the fountains of waters.

14:7 Er rief mit lauter Stimme: »Fürchtet Gott und gebt ihm Ehre! Denn gekommen ist die Stunde seines Gerichts; und betet den an, der den Himmel und die Erde, das Meer und die Wasserquellen geschaffen hat!« –

14:8 And another angel followed, saying: That great Babylon is fallen, is fallen; which made all nations to drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

14:8 Hinter ihm kam ein anderer, zweiter Engel, der rief: »Gefallen, gefallen ist das große Babylon, das alle Völker vom Glutwein seiner Unzucht hat trinken lassen!« –

14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice: If any man shall adore the beast and his image and receive his character in his forehead or in his hand,

14:9 Noch ein anderer, dritter Engel folgte ihnen nach, der mit lauter Stimme rief: »Wenn jemand das Tier und sein Bild anbetet und das Malzeichen an seiner Stirn oder seiner Hand annimmt,

14:10 He also shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mingled with pure wine in the cup of his wrath: and shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the sight of the holy angels and in the sight of the Lamb.

14:10 der wird gleichfalls vom Zornwein Gottes trinken, der ungemischt im Becher seines Zornes hergestellt ist, und wird mit Feuer und Schwefel vor den Augen der heiligen Engel und vor dem Lamm gepeinigt werden;

14:11 And the smoke of their torments, shall ascend up for ever and ever: neither have they rest day nor night, who have adored the beast and his image and whoever receiveth the character of his name.

14:11 und der Rauch von ihrer Peinigung steigt in alle Ewigkeit auf, und sie haben keine Ruhe bei Tag und bei Nacht, sie die das Tier und sein Bild anbeten, und alle, die das Malzeichen seines Namens an sich tragen!«

14:12 Here is the patience of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

14:12 Hier muß sich das standhafte Ausharren der Heiligen zeigen, die da treu bleiben den Geboten Gottes und dem Glauben an Jesus.

14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven, saying to me: Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. From henceforth now, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours. For their works follow them.

14:13 Da vernahm ich eine Stimme aus dem Himmel, die (mir) zurief: »Schreibe: Selig sind die Toten, die im Herrn sterben, von jetzt an! Ja – so spricht der Geist –, sie sollen ausruhen von ihren Mühsalen; denn ihre Werke folgen ihnen nach.«

14:14 And I saw: and behold a white cloud and upon the cloud one sitting like to the Son of man, having on his head a crown of gold and in his hand a sharp sickle.

14:14 Nun sah ich plötzlich eine weiße Wolke, und auf der Wolke saß einer, der wie ein Menschensohn aussah; er hatte auf dem Haupt eine goldene Krone und eine scharfe Sichel in der Hand.

14:15 And another angel came out from the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat upon the cloud: Thrust in thy sickle and reap, because the hour is come to reap. For the harvest of the earth is ripe.

14:15 Dann trat ein anderer Engel aus dem Tempel heraus und rief dem auf der Wolke Sitzenden mit lauter Stimme zu: »Lege deine Sichel an und beginne die Ernte! Denn die Zeit zum Ernten ist gekommen, weil die Ernte der Erde dürr geworden ist.«

14:16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust his sickle into the earth: and the earth was reaped.

14:16 Da ließ der auf der Wolke Sitzende seine Sichel über die Erde fahren, und die Erde wurde abgeerntet.

14:17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

14:17 Dann trat noch ein anderer Engel aus dem Tempel im Himmel heraus, der gleichfalls eine scharfe Sichel hatte,

14:18 And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire. And he cried with a loud voice to him that had the sharp sickle, saying: Thrust in thy sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vineyard of the earth, because the grapes thereof are ripe.

14:18 und ein anderer Engel kam aus dem Altar heraus; der hatte Macht über das Feuer und rief dem, der die scharfe Sichel hatte, mit lauter Stimme die Worte zu: »Lege deine scharfe Sichel an und schneide den Fruchtertrag am Weinstock der Erde ab! Denn seine Trauben sind reif geworden.«

14:19 And the angel thrust in his sharp sickle into the earth and gathered the vineyard of the earth and cast it into the great press of the wrath of God:

14:19 Da ließ der Engel seine Sichel über die Erde fahren, erntete den Weinstock der Erde ab und schüttete (die Trauben) in die große Zorneskelter Gottes.

14:20 And the press was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the press, up to the horses' bridles, for a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

14:20 Hierauf wurde die Kelter draußen vor der Stadt getreten: da kam Blut aus der Kelter hervor bis hinauf an die Zügel der Pferde (und ergoß sich) sechzehnhundert Stadien weit.
