39:1 And thou, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say: Thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I come against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Mosoch and Thubal.

39:1 »Du also, Menschensohn, sprich gegen Gog folgende Weissagungen aus: ›So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: Wisse wohl: ich will an dich, Gog, Fürst von Ros, Mesech und Thubal!

39:2 And I will turn thee round, and I will lead thee out, and will make thee go up from the northern parts: and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel.

39:2 Ich will dich herbeilocken und am Gängelbande führen und dich vom äußersten Norden heranziehen lassen und dich auf die Berge Israels kommen lassen.

39:3 And I will break thy bow in thy left hand, and I will cause thy arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

39:3 Aber (dort) will ich dir den Bogen aus der linken Hand schlagen und die Pfeile deiner rechten Hand entfallen lassen.

39:4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou and all thy bands, and thy nations that are with thee: I have given thee to the wild beasts, to the birds, and to every fowl, and to the beasts of the earth to be devoured.

39:4 Auf den Bergen Israels sollst du fallen, du selbst und alle deine Scharen und die Völker, die bei dir sind; den Raubvögeln, allem Getier, das Flügel hat, und den Raubtieren des Feldes überlasse ich dich zum Fraß:

39:5 Thou shalt fall upon the face of the field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.

39:5 auf freiem Felde sollst du fallen; denn ich habe es gesagt!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.

39:6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and on them that dwell confidently in the islands: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

39:6 ›Da will ich an Magog und an die in Sorglosigkeit lebenden Bewohner der Meeresländer Feuer legen, damit sie erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin.

39:7 And I will make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel, and my holy name shall be profaned no more: and the Gentiles shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.

39:7 Aber inmitten meines Volkes Israel will ich meinem heiligen Namen Anerkennung verschaffen und werde meinen heiligen Namen nicht länger entweihen lassen, damit die Heidenvölker erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin, der Heilige in Israel.

39:8 Behold it cometh, and it is done, saith the Lord God: this is the day whereof I have spoken.

39:8 Wisse wohl: es kommt und geht in Erfüllung!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN –; ›das ist der Tag, auf den ich hingewiesen habe!‹«

39:9 And the inhabitants shall go forth of the cities of Israel, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, the shields, and the spears, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves and the pikes: and they shall burn them with fire seven years.

39:9 »Da werden denn die Bewohner der Städte Israels hinausziehen und Feuer anmachen und einheizen mit den Waffen, den Kurzschilden und Langschilden, mit den Bogen und Pfeilen, mit den Keulen und Lanzen, und werden sieben Jahre lang Feuer mit ihnen machen.

39:10 And they shall not bring wood out of the countries, nor cut down out of the forests: for they shall burn the weapons with fire, and shall make a prey of them to whom they had been a prey, and they shall rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord God.

39:10 Die brauchen dann kein Holz mehr vom Felde zu holen und keins in den Wäldern zu hauen, sondern werden die Waffen als Brennholz benutzen und Raub gewinnen von denen, welche sie beraubt hatten, und die plündern, welche sie geplündert hatten« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.

39:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give Gog a noted place for a sepulchre in Israel: the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea, which shall cause astonishment in them that pass by: and there shall they bury Gog, and all his multitude, and it shall be called the valley of the multitude of Gog.

39:11 »Und an jenem Tage werde ich dem Gog eine Grabstätte in Israel anweisen, nämlich das Tal der Wanderer auf der Ostseite des (Toten) Meeres: dies wird ihrem Wanderzuge ein Ende machen. Dort wird man Gog und seine gesamte Heeresmacht begraben und es das ›Tal der Heeresmacht Gogs‹ nennen.

39:12 And the house of Israel shall bury them for seven months to cleanse the land.

39:12 Das Haus Israel wird dann sieben Monate lang mit ihrem Begräbnis zu tun haben, um das Land zu reinigen;

39:13 And all the people of the land shall bury him, and it shall be unto them a noted day, wherein I was glorified, saith the Lord God.

39:13 und die gesamte Bevölkerung des Landes wird sich an dem Begräbnis beteiligen; und das wird ihnen zum Ruhm gereichen an dem Tage, wo ich mich verherrlichen werde« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.

39:14 And they shall appoint men to go continually about the land, to bury and to seek out them that were remaining upon the face of the earth, that they may cleanse it: and after seven months they shall begin to seek.

39:14 »Dann wird man Männer bestellen, die das ständige Geschäft haben, im Lande umherzuziehen, um die von dem Wandervolk im Lande noch liegengebliebenen Toten zu begraben und so (das ganze Land) zu reinigen; nach Ablauf der sieben Monate sollen sie die Durchsuchung vornehmen.

39:15 And they shall go about passing through the land: and when they shall see the bone of a man, they shall set up sign by it, till the buriers bury it in the valley, of the multitude of Gog.

39:15 Wenn sie dann auf ihrer Wanderung das Land durchziehen und einer von ihnen ein Menschengerippe erblickt, so soll er ein Mal daneben errichten, bis die Totengräber es im Tal der Heeresmacht Gogs begraben haben.

39:16 And the name of the city shall be Amona, and they shall cleanse the land.

39:16 Auch wird es dort eine Stadt namens Hamona geben. So sollen sie das Land reinigen.«

39:17 And thou, O son of man, saith the Lord God, say to every fowl, and to all the birds, and to all the beasts of the field: Assemble yourselves, make haste, come together from every side to my victim, which I slay for you, a great victim upon the mountains of Israel: to eat flesh, and drink blood.

39:17 »Du aber, Menschensohn« – so hat Gott der HERR gesprochen –, »sage zu den Vögeln, zu allem Getier, das Flügel hat, und zu allen Raubtieren des Feldes: ›Versammelt euch und kommt herbei! Schart euch von allen Seiten her zusammen zu meinem Opferschmaus, den ich euch veranstalte, zu dem großen Opferschmaus auf den Bergen Israels! Ihr sollt Fleisch fressen und Blut trinken!

39:18 You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and you shall drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, and of lambs, and of he- goats, and bullocks, and of all that are well fed and fat.

39:18 Fleisch von Heerführern sollt ihr fressen und das Blut von Fürsten der Erde trinken: Widder und Lämmer, Böcke und Stiere, lauter Mastvieh aus Basan;

39:19 And you shall eat the fat till you be full, and shall drink blood till you be drunk of the victim which I shall slay for you.

39:19 in Fett sollt ihr euch satt fressen und Blut bis zur Trunkenheit trinken von meinem Opferschmaus, den ich euch veranstalte.

39:20 And you shall be filled at my table with horses, and mighty horsemen, and all the men of war, saith the Lord God.

39:20 An meiner Tafel sollt ihr euch sättigen an Rossen und Reitern, an Heerführern und Kriegsleuten aller Art!‹« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.

39:21 And I will set my glory among the nations: and all nations shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.

39:21 »So will ich denn meine Herrlichkeit unter den Heidenvölkern offenbar werden lassen, und alle Heidenvölker sollen mein Strafgericht sehen, das ich vollzogen habe, und meine Hand, die ich sie habe fühlen lassen;

39:22 And the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward.

39:22 das Haus Israel aber wird erkennen, daß ich, der HERR, ihr Gott bin, von jenem Tage an und weiterhin;

39:23 And the nations shall know that the house of Israel were made captives for their iniquity, because they forsook me, and I hid my face from them: and I delivered them into the hands of their enemies, and they fell all by the sword.

39:23 und die Heidenvölker werden erkennen, daß das Haus Israel um seiner Verschuldung willen in die Verbannung hat wandern müssen zur Strafe dafür, daß sie treulos gegen mich geworden waren, und weil ich mein Angesicht vor ihnen verborgen und sie der Gewalt ihrer Feinde preisgegeben hatte, so daß sie allesamt durch das Schwert fallen mußten.

39:24 I have dealt with them according to their uncleanness, and wickedness, and hid my face from them.

39:24 Wie ihre Unreinheit und ihre Treubrüche es verdienten, so bin ich mit ihnen verfahren und habe mein Angesicht vor ihnen verborgen.«

39:25 Therefore, thus saith the Lord God: Now will I bring back the captivity of Jacob, and will have mercy on all the house of Israel and I will be jealous for my holy name.

39:25 Darum hat Gott der HERR so gesprochen: »Nunmehr will ich das Geschick Jakobs wenden und mich des gesamten Hauses Israel erbarmen und für meinen heiligen Namen eifern.

39:26 And they shall bear their confusion, and all the transgressions wherewith they have transgressed against me, when they shall dwell in their land securely fearing no man:

39:26 Dann sollen sie ihre Schmach und alle ihre Treulosigkeit, die sie sich gegen mich haben zuschulden kommen lassen, vergessen, wenn sie wieder sicher in ihrem Lande wohnen und niemand sie mehr aufschreckt.

39:27 And I shall have brought them back from among the nations, and shall have gathered them together out of the lands of their enemies, and shall be sanctified in them, in the sight of many nations.

39:27 Wenn ich sie aus den Völkern zurückgebracht und sie aus den Ländern ihrer Feinde gesammelt und mich vor den Augen der Heidenvölker als den Heiligen an ihnen erwiesen habe,

39:28 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, because I caused them to be carried away among the nations; and I have gathered them together unto their own land, and have not left any of them there.

39:28 dann werden sie auch erkennen, daß ich, der HERR, ihr Gott bin, der ich sie zwar unter die Heidenvölker in die Gefangenschaft geführt habe, aber sie nun auch wieder in ihrem Lande versammle und fortan keinen von ihnen dort zurücklasse.

39:29 And I will hide my face no more from them, for I have poured out my spirit upon all the house of Israel, saith the Lord God.

39:29 Und ich werde mein Angesicht nicht mehr vor ihnen verbergen, weil ich (alsdann) meinen Geist auf das Haus Israel ausgegossen habe«, – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.
