9:1 The former indeed had also justifications of divine service and a sanctuary.

9:1 Allerdings hatte auch der erste (Bund) Satzungen für den Gottesdienst und (hatte) auch das weltliche Heiligtum.

9:2 For there was a tabernacle made the first, wherein were the candlesticks and the table and the setting forth of loaves, which is called the Holy.

9:2 Es wurde nämlich ein Zelt hergestellt, dessen Vorderraum, in welchem sich der Leuchter sowie der Tisch mit den aufgelegten Schaubroten befinden, das sogenannte Heilige ist.

9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies:

9:3 Hinter dem zweiten Vorhang aber liegt der Teil des Zeltes, der das Allerheiligste genannt wird,

9:4 Having a golden censer and the ark of the testament covered about on every part with gold, in which was a golden pot that had manna and the rod of Aaron that had blossomed and the tables of the testament.

9:4 mit dem goldenen Räucheraltar und der ganz mit Gold überzogenen Bundeslade, in welcher sich der goldene Krug mit dem Manna sowie der Stab Aarons, der Blüten getrieben hatte, und die Bundestafeln befinden;

9:5 And over it were the cherubims of glory overshadowing the propitiatory: of which it is not needful to speak now particularly.

9:5 oben über ihr aber stehen die (beiden) Cherube der Herrlichkeit, welche (mit ihren Flügeln) die Deckplatte überschatten – doch hierüber soll jetzt nicht im einzelnen geredet werden.

9:6 Now these things being thus ordered, into the first tabernacle, the priests indeed always entered, accomplishing the offices of sacrifices.

9:6 Seitdem nun dies so eingerichtet worden ist, betreten die Priester, welche die gottesdienstlichen Handlungen zu verrichten haben, den Vorderraum des Zeltes jederzeit;

9:7 But into the second, the high priest alone, once a year: not without blood, which he offereth for his own and the people's ignorance:

9:7 in den zweiten Raum dagegen darf nur der Hohepriester einmal im Jahr eintreten, (und zwar) nicht ohne Blut, das er für sich selbst und für die Verfehlungen des Volkes darbringt.

9:8 The Holy Ghost signifying this: That the way into the Holies was not yet made manifest, whilst the former tabernacle was yet standing.

9:8 Dadurch weist der heilige Geist darauf hin, daß der Weg zum wahrhaften Heiligtum noch nicht geoffenbart ist, solange das vordere Zelt noch Bestand hat.

9:9 Which is a parable of the time present: according to which gifts and sacrifices are offered, which cannot, as to the conscience, make him perfect that serveth, only in meats and in drinks,

9:9 So ist denn dieser Vorraum ein Sinnbild auf die Gegenwart, insofern in ihm unblutige und blutige Opfer dargebracht werden, die doch nicht imstande sind, den, der (Gott mit ihnen) dient, in seinem Gewissen ans Ziel zu bringen.

9:10 And divers washings and justices of the flesh laid on them until the time of correction.

9:10 Sie sind ja neben den (Verordnungen über) Speisen, Getränke und mancherlei Waschungen ebenfalls nur als fleischliche Satzungen bis zu der Zeit auferlegt, wo etwas Besseres in Geltung tritt.

9:11 But Christ, being come an high Priest of the good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hand, that is, not of this creation:

9:11 Christus dagegen ist, indem er als Hoherpriester der zukünftigen Güter kam, durch das größere und vollkommenere Zelt, das nicht mit Händen gemacht ist, d.h. nicht dieser erschaffenen Welt angehört,

9:12 Neither by the blood of goats or of calves, but by his own blood, entered once into the Holies, having obtained eternal redemption.

9:12 auch nicht mittels des Blutes von Böcken und Kälbern, sondern mittels seines eigenen Blutes ein für allemal in das (himmlische) Heiligtum eingetreten und hat eine ewiggültige Erlösung ausfindig gemacht.

9:13 For if the blood of goats and of oxen, and the ashes of an heifer, being sprinkled, sanctify such as are defiled, to the cleansing of the flesh:

9:13 Denn wenn schon das Blut von Böcken und Stieren und die Asche einer Kuh, mit der man die Verunreinigten besprengt, Heiligung zu leiblicher Reinheit bewirkt,

9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who by the Holy Ghost offered himself unspotted unto God, cleanse our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?

9:14 um wieviel mehr wird das Blut Christi, der kraft ewigen Geistes sich selbst als ein fehlerloses Opfer Gott dargebracht hat, unser Gewissen von toten Werken reinigen, damit wir dem lebendigen Gott dienen!

9:15 And therefore he is the mediator of the new testament: that by means of his death for the redemption of those transgressions which were under the former testament, they that are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

9:15 Und aus diesem Grunde ist er auch der Mittler eines neuen Bundes, damit aufgrund eines Todes, der zum Erlaß der während der Dauer des ersten Bundes begangenen Übertretungen erfolgt ist, die Berufenen das verheißene Gut des ewigen Erbes empfangen sollten.

9:16 For where there is a testament the death of the testator must of necessity come in.

9:16 Denn wo eine letztwillige Stiftung vorliegt, da muß unbedingt der Tod dessen, der die Stiftung errichtet hat, (als eingetreten) nachgewiesen werden;

9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is as yet of no strength, whilst the testator liveth.

9:17 eine Stiftung wird ja erst nach Eintritt des Todes rechtskräftig, während sie durchaus keine Kraft besitzt, solange der Stifter noch lebt.

9:18 Whereupon neither was the first indeed dedicated without blood.

9:18 Daher ist ja auch der erste Bund nicht ohne Blut eingeweiht worden.

9:19 For when every commandment of the law had been read by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people.

9:19 Nachdem nämlich Mose jedes Gebot, wie das Gesetz es vorschrieb, dem ganzen Volke vorgetragen hatte, nahm er das Blut der Kälber und der Böcke nebst Wasser und Scharlachwolle und einem Büschel Ysop und besprengte damit wie das Buch selbst, so auch das gesamte Volk,

9:20 Saying: This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

9:20 indem er dabei ausrief: »Dies ist das Blut des Bundes, den Gott für euch angeordnet hat!«

9:21 The tabernacle also and all the vessels of the ministry, in like manner, he sprinkled with blood.

9:21 Aber auch das Zelt und sämtliche gottesdienstlichen Geräte besprengte er in gleicher Weise mit dem Blute;

9:22 And almost all things, according to the law, are cleansed with blood: and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

9:22 überhaupt wird beinahe alles nach dem Gesetz mit Blut gereinigt, und ohne Blutvergießen erfolgt keine Vergebung.

9:23 It is necessary therefore that the patterns of heavenly things should be cleansed with these: but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

9:23 Es mußten also zwar die Nachbildungen der im Himmel (befindlichen Heiligtümer) durch diese Mittel gereinigt werden, aber für die himmlischen Heiligtümer selbst muß es bessere Opfer geben, als jene es sind.

9:24 For Jesus is not entered into the Holies made with hands, the patterns of the true: but into Heaven itself, that he may appear now in the presence of God for us.

9:24 Denn Christus ist nicht in ein von Menschenhänden hergestelltes Heiligtum eingegangen, das nur eine Nachbildung des wahren Heiligtums wäre, sondern in den Himmel selbst, um jetzt uns zum Heil (persönlich) vor dem Angesicht Gottes zu erscheinen;

9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the Holies every year with the blood of others:

9:25 auch hat er das nicht in der Absicht getan, sich oftmals als Opfer darzubringen, wie der (irdische) Hohepriester alljährlich mit fremdem Blut in das Heiligtum hineingeht;

9:26 For then he ought to have suffered often from the beginning of the world. But now once, at the end of ages, he hath appeared for the destruction of sin by the sacrifice of himself.

9:26 sonst hätte er ja seit Erschaffung der Welt oftmals leiden müssen. So aber ist er nur einmal am Ende der Weltzeiten offenbar geworden, um die Sünde durch sein Opfer aufzuheben.

9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment:

9:27 Und so gewiß es den Menschen bevorsteht, einmal zu sterben, danach aber das Gericht,

9:28 So also Christ was offered once to exhaust the sins of many. The second time he shall appear without sin to them that expect him unto salvation.

9:28 ebenso wird auch Christus, nachdem er ein einziges Mal als Opfer dargebracht worden ist, um die Sünden vieler wegzunehmen, zum zweitenmal ohne (Beziehung zur) Sünde denen, die auf ihn warten, zum Heil erscheinen.
