13:1 The same day Jesus going out of the house, sat by the sea side.

13:1 An jenem Tage ging Jesus von Hause weg und setzte sich am See nieder;

13:2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went up into a boat and sat: and all the multitude stood on the shore.

13:2 und es versammelte sich eine große Volksmenge bei ihm, so daß er in ein Boot stieg und sich darin niedersetzte, während die ganze Volksmenge längs dem Ufer stand.

13:3 And he spoke to them many things in parables, saying: Behold the sower went forth to sow.

13:3 Da redete er mancherlei zu ihnen in Gleichnissen mit den Worten: »Seht, der Sämann ging aus, um zu säen;

13:4 And whilst he soweth some fell by the way side, and the birds of the air came and ate them up.

13:4 und beim Säen fiel einiges (von dem Saatkorn) auf den Weg längshin; da kamen die Vögel und fraßen es auf.

13:5 And other some fell upon stony ground, where they had not much earth: and they sprung up immediately, because they had no deepness of earth.

13:5 Anderes fiel auf die felsigen Stellen, wo es nicht viel Erdreich hatte und bald aufschoß, weil es nicht tief in den Boden dringen konnte;

13:6 And when the sun was up they were scorched: and because they had not root, they withered away.

13:6 als dann aber die Sonne aufgegangen war, wurde es versengt, und weil es nicht Wurzel (geschlagen) hatte, verdorrte es.

13:7 And others fell among thorns: and the thorns grew up and choked them.

13:7 Wieder anderes fiel unter die Dornen, und die Dornen wuchsen empor und erstickten es.

13:8 And others fell upon good ground: and they brought forth fruit, some an hundred fold, some sixty fold, and some thirty fold.

13:8 Anderes aber fiel auf den guten Boden und brachte Frucht, das eine hundertfältig, das andere sechzigfältig, das andere dreißigfältig.

13:9 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

13:9 Wer Ohren hat, der höre!«

13:10 And his disciples came and said to him: Why speakest thou to them in parables?

13:10 Da traten die Jünger an Jesus heran und fragten ihn: »Warum redest du in Gleichnissen zu ihnen?«

13:11 Who answered and said to them: Because to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven: but to them it is not given.

13:11 Er antwortete: »Euch ist es gegeben, die Geheimnisse des Himmelreichs zu erkennen, jenen aber ist es nicht gegeben.

13:12 For he that hath, to him shall be given, and he shall abound: but he that hath not, from him shall be taken away that also which he hath.

13:12 Denn wer da hat, dem wird gegeben werden, so daß er Überfluß hat; wer aber nicht hat, dem wird auch das genommen werden, was er hat.

13:13 Therefore do I speak to them in parables: because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

13:13 Deshalb rede ich in Gleichnissen zu ihnen, weil sie mit sehenden Augen doch nicht sehen und mit hörenden Ohren doch nicht hören und nicht verstehen.

13:14 And the prophecy of Isaias is fulfilled in them, who saith: By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand: and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive.

13:14 So geht an ihnen die Weissagung Jesajas in Erfüllung, die da lautet: ›Ihr werdet immerfort hören und doch nicht verstehen, und ihr werdet immerfort sehen und doch nicht wahrnehmen!

13:15 For the heart of this people is grown gross, and with their ears they have been dull of hearing, and their eyes they have shut: lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

13:15 Denn das Herz dieses Volkes ist stumpf geworden: ihre Ohren sind schwerhörig geworden, und ihre Augen haben sie geschlossen, damit sie mit den Augen nicht sehen und mit den Ohren nicht hören und mit dem Herzen nicht zum Verständnis gelangen, und sie sich (nicht) bekehren, daß ich sie heilen könnte.‹

13:16 But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear.

13:16 Aber eure Augen sind selig (zu preisen), weil sie sehen, und eure Ohren, weil sie hören!

13:17 For, amen, I say to you, many prophets and just men have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them: and to hear the things that you hear and have not heard them.

13:17 Denn wahrlich ich sage euch: Viele Propheten und Gerechte haben sehnlichst gewünscht, das zu sehen, was ihr seht, und haben es nicht gesehen, und hätten gerne das gehört, was ihr hört, und haben es nicht zu hören bekommen.«

13:18 Hear you therefore the parable of the sower.

13:18 »Ihr sollt also die Deutung des Gleichnisses vom Sämann zu hören bekommen.

13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, there cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart: this is he that received the seed by the way side.

13:19 Bei jedem, der das Wort vom Reich (Gottes) hört und es nicht versteht, da kommt der Böse und reißt das aus, was in sein Herz gesät ist; bei diesem ist der Same auf den Weg längshin gefallen.

13:20 And he that received the seed upon stony ground, is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy.

13:20 Wo aber auf die felsigen Stellen gesät worden ist, das bedeutet einen solchen, der das Wort hört und es für den Augenblick mit Freuden annimmt;

13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but is only for a time: and when there ariseth tribulation and persecution because of the word, he is presently scandalized.

13:21 er hat aber keine feste Wurzel in sich, sondern ist ein Kind des Augenblicks; wenn dann Bedrängnis oder Verfolgung um des Wortes willen eintritt, wird er sogleich irre.

13:22 And he that received the seed among thorns, is he that heareth the word, and the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choketh up the word, and he becometh fruitless.

13:22 Wo sodann unter die Dornen gesät worden ist, das bedeutet einen Menschen, der das Wort wohl hört, bei dem aber die weltlichen Sorgen und der Betrug des Reichtums das Wort ersticken, so daß es ohne Frucht bleibt.

13:23 But he that received the seed upon good ground, is he that heareth the word, and understandeth, and beareth fruit, and yieldeth the one an hundredfold, and another sixty, and another thirty.

13:23 Wo aber auf den guten Boden gesät worden ist, das bedeutet einen solchen, der das Wort hört und auch versteht; dieser bringt dann auch Frucht, und der eine trägt hundertfältig, der andere sechzigfältig, der andere dreißigfältig.«

13:24 Another parable he proposed to them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man that sowed good seed in his field.

13:24 Ein anderes Gleichnis legte er ihnen so vor: »Mit dem Himmelreich verhält es sich wie mit einem Manne, der guten Samen auf seinem Acker ausgesät hatte.

13:25 But while men were asleep, his enemy came and oversowed cockle among the wheat and went his way.

13:25 Während aber die Leute schliefen, kam sein Feind, säte Unkraut zwischen den Weizen und entfernte sich dann wieder.

13:26 And when the blade was sprung up, and had brought forth fruit, then appeared also the cockle.

13:26 Als nun die Saat aufwuchs und Frucht ansetzte, da kam auch das Unkraut zum Vorschein.

13:27 And the servants of the good man of the house coming said to him. Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? Whence then hath it cockle?

13:27 Da traten die Knechte zu dem Hausherrn und sagten: ›Herr, hast du nicht guten Samen auf deinen Acker gesät? Woher hat er denn nun das Unkraut?‹

13:28 And he said to them: An enemy hath done this. And the servants said to him: Wilt thou that we go and gather it up?

13:28 Er antwortete ihnen: ›Das hat ein Feind getan.‹ Die Knechte fragten ihn weiter: ›Willst du nun, daß wir hingehen und es zusammenlesen?‹

13:29 And he said: No, lest perhaps gathering up the cockle, you root up the wheat also together with it.

13:29 Doch er antwortete: ›Nein, ihr würdet sonst beim Sammeln des Unkrauts zugleich auch den Weizen ausreißen.

13:30 Suffer both to grow until the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers: Gather up first the cockle, and bind it into bundles to burn, but the wheat gather ye into my barn.

13:30 Laßt beides zusammen bis zur Ernte wachsen; dann will ich zur Erntezeit den Schnittern sagen: Lest zuerst das Unkraut zusammen und bindet es in Bündel, damit man es verbrenne; den Weizen aber sammelt in meine Scheuer!‹«

13:31 Another parable he proposed unto them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.

13:31 Ein anderes Gleichnis legte er ihnen so vor: »Das Himmelreich ist einem Senfkorn vergleichbar, das ein Mann nahm und auf seinen Acker säte.

13:32 Which is the least indeed of all seeds; but when it is grown up, it is greater than all herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come, and dwell in the branches thereof.

13:32 Dies ist das kleinste unter allen Samenarten; wenn es aber herangewachsen ist, dann ist es größer als die anderen Gartengewächse und wird zu einem Baum, so daß die Vögel des Himmels kommen und in seinen Zweigen nisten.«

13:33 Another parable he spoke to them: The kingdom of heaven is like to leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, until the whole was leavened.

13:33 Noch ein anderes Gleichnis teilte er ihnen so mit: »Das Himmelreich gleicht dem Sauerteig, den eine Frau nahm und unter drei Scheffel Mehl mengte, bis der ganze Teig durchsäuert war.«

13:34 All these things Jesus spoke in parables to the multitudes: and without parables he did not speak to them.

13:34 Dies alles redete Jesus in Gleichnissen zu den Volksscharen, und ohne Gleichnisse redete er nichts zu ihnen.

13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.

13:35 So sollte sich das Wort des Propheten erfüllen, der da sagt: »Ich will meinen Mund zu Gleichnissen auftun, ich will aussprechen, was seit Grundlegung der Welt verborgen gewesen ist.«

13:36 Then having sent away the multitudes, he came into the house, and his disciples came to him, saying: Expound to us the parable of the cockle of the field.

13:36 Hierauf entließ er die Volksmenge und begab sich in seine Wohnung. Da traten seine Jünger zu ihm und baten ihn: »Erkläre uns das Gleichnis vom Unkraut auf dem Acker!«

13:37 Who made answer and said to them: He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man.

13:37 Er antwortete: »Der Mann, der den guten Samen sät, ist der Menschensohn;

13:38 And the field is the world. And the good seed are the children of the kingdom. And the cockle are the children of the wicked one.

13:38 der Acker ist die Welt; die gute Saat, das sind die Söhne des Reiches; das Unkraut dagegen sind die Söhne des Bösen;

13:39 And the enemy that sowed them, is the devil. But the harvest is the end of the world. And the reapers are the angels.

13:39 der Feind ferner, der das Unkraut gesät hat, ist der Teufel; die Ernte ist das Ende dieser Weltzeit, und die Schnitter sind Engel.

13:40 Even as cockle therefore is gathered up, and burnt with fire: so shall it be at the end of the world.

13:40 Wie nun das Unkraut gesammelt und im Feuer verbrannt wird, so wird es auch am Ende der Weltzeit der Fall sein:

13:41 The Son of man shall send his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all scandals, and them that work iniquity.

13:41 Der Menschensohn wird seine Engel aussenden; die werden aus seinem Reich alle Ärgernisse und alle die sammeln, welche die Gesetzlosigkeit üben,

13:42 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

13:42 und werden sie in den Feuerofen werfen: dort wird lautes Weinen und Zähneknirschen sein.

13:43 Then shall the just shine as the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

13:43 Alsdann werden die Gerechten im Reich ihres Vaters wie die Sonne leuchten. Wer Ohren hat, der höre!«

13:44 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a field. Which a man having found, hid it, and for joy thereof goeth, and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

13:44 »Das Himmelreich ist einem im Acker vergrabenen Schatz gleich; den fand ein Mann und vergrub ihn (wieder); alsdann ging er in seiner Freude hin, verkaufte alles, was er besaß, und kaufte jenen Acker.

13:45 Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a merchant seeking good pearls.

13:45 Wiederum gleicht das Himmelreich einem Kaufmann, der wertvolle Perlen suchte;

13:46 Who when he had found one pearl of great price, went his way, and sold all that he had, and bought it.

13:46 und als er eine besonders kostbare Perle gefunden hatte, ging er heim, verkaufte alles, was er besaß, und kaufte sie.

13:47 Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a net cast into the sea, and gathering together of all kinds of fishes.

13:47 Weiter ist das Himmelreich einem Schleppnetz gleich, das ins Meer ausgeworfen wurde und in welchem sich Fische jeder Art in Menge fingen.

13:48 Which, when it was filled, they drew out, and sitting by the shore, they chose out the good into vessels, but the bad they cast forth.

13:48 Als es ganz gefüllt war, zog man es an den Strand, setzte sich nieder und sammelte das Gute in Gefäße, das Faule aber warf man weg.

13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world. The angels shall go out, and shall separate the wicked from among the just.

13:49 So wird es auch am Ende der Weltzeit zugehen: Die Engel werden ausgehen und die Bösen aus der Mitte der Gerechten absondern

13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

13:50 und sie in den Feuerofen werfen: dort wird lautes Weinen und Zähneknirschen sein.«

13:51 Have ye understood all these things? They say to him: Yes.

13:51 »Habt ihr dies alles verstanden?« Sie antworteten ihm: »Ja.«

13:52 He said unto them: Therefore every scribe instructed in the kingdom of heaven, is like to a man that is a householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure new things and old.

13:52 Da sagte er zu ihnen: »Deshalb ist jeder Schriftgelehrte, der in der Schule des Himmelreichs ausgebildet ist, einem Hausherrn gleich, der aus seinem Schatze Neues und Altes hervorholt.«

13:53 And it came to pass: when Jesus had finished these parables, he passed from thence.

13:53 Als Jesus nun diese Gleichnisse beendigt hatte, brach er von dort auf;

13:54 And coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogues, so that they wondered and said: How came this man by this wisdom and miracles?

13:54 und als er in seine Vaterstadt (Nazareth) gekommen war, machte er in ihrer Synagoge durch seine Lehre solchen Eindruck auf sie, daß sie in Erstaunen gerieten und fragten: »Woher hat dieser solche Weisheit und die Machttaten?

13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brethren James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Jude:

13:55 Ist dieser nicht der Sohn des Zimmermanns? Heißt seine Mutter nicht Maria, und sind nicht Jakobus und Joseph, Simon und Judas seine Brüder?

13:56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence therefore hath he all these things?

13:56 Wohnen nicht auch seine Schwestern alle hier bei uns? Woher hat dieser also dies alles?«

13:57 And they were scandalized in his regard. But Jesus said to them: A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

13:57 So nahmen sie Anstoß an ihm. Jesus aber sagte zu ihnen: »Ein Prophet gilt nirgends weniger als in seiner Vaterstadt und in seiner Familie.«

13:58 And he wrought not many miracles there, because of their unbelief.

13:58 So tat er denn dort infolge ihres Unglaubens nicht viele Wunder.
