110:1 A psalm for David. The Lord said to my Lord: Sit thou at my right hand: Until I make thy enemies thy footstool.

110:1 Von David, ein Psalm. So lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN an meinen Herrn: »Setze dich zu meiner Rechten, bis ich deine Feinde hinlege zum Schemel für deine Füße!«

110:2 The Lord will send forth the sceptre of thy power out of Sion: rule thou in the midst of thy enemies.

110:2 Dein machtvolles Zepter wird der HERR von Zion hinausstrecken: herrsche inmitten deiner Feinde!

110:3 With thee is the principality in the day of thy strength: in the brightness of the saints: from the womb before the day star I begot thee.

110:3 Dein Volk wird voller Willigkeit sein am Tage deines Heereszuges; in heiligem Schmuck, wie aus des Frührots Schoß der Tau, wird dir kommen deine junge Mannschaft.

110:4 The Lord hath sworn, and he will not repent: Thou art a priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedech.

110:4 Geschworen hat der HERR und wird sich’s nicht leid sein lassen: »Du sollst ein Priester in Ewigkeit sein nach der Weise Melchisedeks.«

110:5 The Lord at thy right hand hath broken kings in the day of his wrath.

110:5 Der Allherr, der dir zur Rechten steht, wird Könige zerschmettern am Tage seines Zorns;

110:6 He shall judge among nations, he shall fill ruins: he shall crush the heads in the land of many.

110:6 Gericht wird er unter den Völkern halten, füllt alles mit Leichen an, zerschmettert ein Haupt auf weitem Gefilde.

110:7 He shall drink of the torrent in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

110:7 Aus dem Bach am Wege wird er trinken; darum wird er das Haupt hoch halten.
