33:1 Jubelt, ihr Gerechten, über den HERRN! Den Aufrichtigen ziemet Lobgesang.

33:2 Give praise to the Lord on the harp; sing to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.

33:2 Preiset den HERRN mit der Zither, spielt ihm auf zehnsaitiger Harfe!

33:3 Sing to him a new canticle, sing well unto him with a loud noise.

33:3 Singt ihm ein neues Lied, laßt laut die Saiten erklingen mit Jubelschall!

33:4 For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done with faithfulness.

33:4 Denn das Wort des HERRN ist wahrhaftig, und in all seinem Tun ist er treu;

33:5 He loveth mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

33:5 er liebt Gerechtigkeit und Recht; von der Gnade des HERRN ist die Erde voll.

33:6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the power of them by the spirit of his mouth:

33:6 Durch das Wort des HERRN sind die Himmel geschaffen, und ihr ganzes Heer durch den Hauch seines Mundes.

33:7 Gathering together the waters of the sea, as in a vessel; laying up the depths in storehouses.

33:7 Er türmt die Wasser des Meeres auf wie einen Wall und legt die Fluten in Vorratskammern.

33:8 Let all the earth fear the Lord, and let all the inhabitants of the world be in awe of him.

33:8 Es fürchte den HERRN die ganze Erde, vor ihm müssen beben alle Erdenbewohner;

33:9 For he spoke and they were made: he commanded and they were created.

33:9 denn er sprach: da geschah’s; er gebot: da stand es da.

33:10 The Lord bringeth to nought the counsels of nations; and he rejecteth the devices of people, and casteth away the counsels of princes.

33:10 Der HERR hat den Ratschluß der Heiden zerschlagen, die Gedanken der Völker vereitelt.

33:11 But the counsel of the Lord standeth for ever: the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

33:11 Der Ratschluß des HERRN bleibt ewig bestehn, seines Herzens Gedanken von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.

33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord: the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance.

33:12 Wohl dem Volk, dessen Gott der HERR ist, dem Volk, das zum Eigentum er sich erwählt hat!

33:13 The Lord hath looked from heaven: he hath beheld all the sons of men.

33:13 Vom Himmel blickt der HERR herab, sieht alle Menschenkinder;

33:14 From his habitation which he hath prepared, he hath looked upon all that dwell on the earth.

33:14 von der Stätte, wo er wohnt, überschaut er alle Bewohner der Erde,

33:15 He who hath made the hearts of every one of them: who understandeth all their works.

33:15 er, der allen ihr Herz gestaltet, der acht hat auf all ihr Tun.

33:16 The king is not saved by a great army: nor shall the giant be saved by his own great strength.

33:16 Ein König ist nicht geschützt durch große Heeresmacht, ein Kriegsheld rettet sich nicht durch große Kraft;

33:17 Vain is the horse for safety: neither shall he be saved by the abundance of his strength.

33:17 betrogen ist, wer von Rossen die Rettung erhofft, denn trotz all ihrer Stärke vermögen sie nicht zu retten.

33:18 Behold the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him: and on them that hope in his mercy.

33:18 Bedenke: das Auge des HERRN ruht auf denen, die ihn fürchten, auf denen, die seiner Gnade harren,

33:19 To deliver their souls from death; and feed them in famine.

33:19 auf daß er ihre Seele vom Tode errette und sie am Leben erhalte in Hungersnot.

33:20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helper and protector.

33:20 Unsre Seele harret des HERRN: unsre Hilfe und unser Schild ist er.

33:21 For in him our heart shall rejoice: and in his holy name we have trusted.

33:21 Ja, seiner freut sich unser Herz, denn auf seinen heiligen Namen vertrauen wir.

33:22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we have hooped in thee.

33:22 Deine Gnade walte über uns, o HERR, gleichwie wir auf dich geharrt haben!
