97:1 For the same David, when his land was restored again to him. The Lord hath reigned, let the earth rejoice: let many islands be glad.

97:1 Der HERR ist König! Des juble die Erde, die Menge der Meeresländer möge sich freuen!

97:2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: justice and judgment are the establishment of his throne.

97:2 Gewölk und Dunkel umgibt ihn rings, Gerechtigkeit und Recht sind seines Throns Stützen.

97:3 A fire shall go before him, and shall burn his enemies round about.

97:3 Feuer geht vor ihm her und rafft seine Feinde ringsum hinweg.

97:4 His lightnings have shone forth to the world: the earth saw and trembled.

97:4 Seine Blitze erleuchten den Erdkreis: die Erde sieht’s und erbebt in Angst.

97:5 The mountains melted like wax, at the presence of the Lord: at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.

97:5 Die Berge zerschmelzen wie Wachs vor dem HERRN, vor dem Herrscher der ganzen Erde.

97:6 The heavens declared his justice: and all people saw his glory.

97:6 Die Himmel verkünden seine Gerechtigkeit und alle Völker sehn seine Herrlichkeit.

97:7 Let them be all confounded that adore graven things, and that glory in their idols. Adore him, all you his angels:

97:7 Zuschanden sollen werden alle Bilderverehrer, die der nichtigen Götzen sich rühmen: alle Götter werfen vor ihm sich nieder.

97:8 Sion heard, and was glad. And the daughters of Juda rejoiced, because of thy judgments, O Lord.

97:8 Zion vernimmt es mit Freuden, und die Töchter Judas jauchzen um deiner Gerichte willen, o HERR.

97:9 For thou art the most high Lord over all the earth: thou art exalted exceedingly above all gods.

97:9 Denn du, HERR, bist der Höchste über die ganze Erde, hoch erhaben über alle Götter.

97:10 You that love the Lord, hate evil: the Lord preserveth the souls of his saints, he will deliver them out of the hand of the sinner.

97:10 Die den HERRN ihr lieb habt, hasset das Böse! Er, der die Seelen seiner Frommen behütet, wird sie erretten aus der Gottlosen Hand.

97:11 Light is risen to the just, and joy to the right of heart.

97:11 Licht erstrahlt dem Gerechten und Freude den redlich Gesinnten.

97:12 Rejoice, ye just, in the Lord: and give praise to the remembrance of his holiness.

97:12 Freut euch des HERRN, ihr Gerechten, und preist seinen heiligen Namen!
