123:1 Ein Wallfahrtslied. Zu dir erhebe ich meine Augen, der du thronst im Himmel.

123:1 To thee have I lifted up my eyes, who dwellest in heaven.

123:2 Siehe, wie die Augen der Knechte auf die Hand ihrer Herren, wie die Augen der Magd auf ihrer Gebieterin Hand: so blicken unsre Augen hin auf den HERRN, unsern Gott, bis er sich unser erbarmt.

123:2 Behold as the eyes of servants are on the hands of their masters, As the eyes of the handmaid are on the hands of her mistress: so are our eyes unto the Lord our God, until he have mercy on us.

123:3 Erbarme dich, HERR, erbarme dich unser! Denn gründlich sind wir satt der Verachtung;

123:3 Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: for we are greatly filled with contempt.

123:4 satt, ja übersatt ist uns die Seele des Hohns der Leichtfertigen, der Verachtung der Stolzen.

123:4 For our soul is greatly filled: we are a reproach to the rich, and contempt to the proud.
