135:1 Halleluja! Preiset den Namen des HERRN, preist ihn, ihr Diener des HERRN,

135:1 Alleluia. Praise ye the name of the Lord: O you his servants, praise the Lord:

135:2 die ihr stehet im Hause des HERRN, in den Höfen am Haus unsers Gottes!

135:2 You that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.

135:3 Preiset den HERRN, denn gütig ist der HERR; lobsingt seinem Namen, denn lieblich ist er!

135:3 Praise ye the Lord, for the Lord is good: sing ye to his name, for it is sweet.

135:4 Denn Jakob hat der HERR sich erwählt und Israel sich zum Eigentum erkoren.

135:4 For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself: Israel for his own possession.

135:5 Ja, ich weiß es: groß ist der HERR, und unser Gott steht über allen Göttern;

135:5 For I have known that the Lord is great, and our God is above all gods.

135:6 alles, was dem HERRN gefällt, das führt er aus im Himmel und auf Erden, in den Meeren und allen Tiefen.

135:6 Whatsoever the Lord pleased he hath done, in heaven, in earth, in the sea, and in all the deeps.

135:7 Er ist’s, der Wolken heraufführt vom Ende der Erde, der Blitze bei Gewitterregen schafft, der den Wind aus seinen Speichern herausläßt.

135:7 He bringeth up clouds from the end of the earth: he hath made lightnings for the rain. He bringeth forth winds out of his stores:

135:8 Er war’s, der Ägyptens Erstgeburten schlug unter Menschen wie beim Vieh;

135:8 He slew the firstborn of Egypt from man even unto beast.

135:9 der Zeichen und Wunder sandte in deine Mitte, Ägypten, gegen den Pharao und all seine Knechte.

135:9 He sent forth signs and wonders in the midst of thee, O Egypt: upon Pharao, and upon all his servants.

135:10 Er war’s, der viele Völker schlug und mächtige Könige tötete:

135:10 He smote many nations, and slew mighty kings:

135:11 Sihon, den König der Amoriter, und Og, den König von Basan, und alle Königreiche Kanaans,

135:11 Sehon king of the Amorrhites, and Og king of Basan, and all the kingdoms of Chanaan.

135:12 und ihr Land als Erbbesitz hingab, als Erbe seinem Volke Israel.

135:12 And gave their land for an inheritance, for an inheritance to his people Israel.

135:13 O HERR, dein Name währt ewig, dein Gedächtnis, o HERR, von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht

135:13 Thy name, O Lord, is for ever: thy memorial, O Lord, unto all generations.

135:14 denn der HERR schafft Recht seinem Volk und erbarmt sich über seine Knechte.

135:14 For the Lord will judge his people, and will be entreated in favour of his servants.

135:15 Die Götzen der Heiden sind Silber und Gold, das Machwerk von Menschenhänden;

135:15 The idols of the Gentiles are silver and gold, the works of men's hands.

135:16 sie haben einen Mund und können nicht reden, haben Augen und sehen nicht;

135:16 They have a mouth, but they speak not: they have eyes, but they see not.

135:17 sie haben Ohren und können nicht hören, auch ist kein Odem in ihrem Munde.

135:17 They have ears, but they hear not: neither is there any breath in their mouths.

135:18 Ihnen gleich sind ihre Verfertiger, jeder, der auf sie vertraut.

135:18 Let them that make them be like to them: and every one that trusteth in them.

135:19 Ihr vom Hause Israel, preiset den HERRN! Ihr vom Hause Aaron, preiset den HERRN!

135:19 Bless the Lord, O house of Israel: bless the Lord, O house of Aaron.

135:20 Ihr vom Hause Levi, preiset den HERRN! Ihr, die ihr fürchtet den HERRN, preiset den HERRN!

135:20 Bless the Lord, O house of Levi: you that fear the Lord, bless the Lord.

135:21 Gepriesen sei der HERR von Zion aus, er, der da wohnt in Jerusalem! Halleluja!

135:21 Blessed be the Lord out of Sion, who dwelleth in Jerusalem.

135:27 Give glory to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.
