66:1 Dem Musikmeister; ein Lied, ein Psalm. Jauchzet Gott, ihr Lande alle!

66:1 Unto the end, in hymns, a psalm of a canticle for David.

66:2 Lobsinget der Ehre seines Namens, macht seinen Lobpreis herrlich!

66:2 Sing ye a psalm to his name; give glory to his praise.

66:3 Sprechet zu Gott: »Wie wunderbar ist dein Walten! Ob der Fülle deiner Macht huldigen dir sogar deine Feinde.

66:3 Say unto God, How terrible are thy works, O Lord! in the multitude of thy strength thy enemies shall lie to thee.

66:4 Alle Lande müssen vor dir sich niederwerfen und dir lobsingen, lobsingen deinem Namen!« SELA.

66:4 Let all the earth adore thee, and sing to thee: let it sing a psalm to thy name.

66:5 Kommt und schauet die Großtaten Gottes, der wunderbar ist im Walten über den Menschenkindern!

66:5 Come and see the works of God; who is terrible in his counsels over the sons of men.

66:6 Er wandelte das Meer in trocknes Land, so daß man den Strom zu Fuß durchzog; drum wollen wir uns freun!

66:6 Who turneth the sea into dry land, in the river they shall pass on foot: there shall we rejoice in him.

66:7 Ewig herrscht er in seiner Macht; seine Augen haben acht auf die Völker: die Widerspenstigen dürfen sich nicht stolz erheben. SELA.

66:7 Who by his power ruleth for ever: his eyes behold the nations; let not them that provoke him be exalted in themselves.

66:8 Preiset, ihr Völker, unsern Gott, laßt laut seinen Ruhm erschallen,

66:8 O bless our God, ye Gentiles: and make the voice of his praise to be heard.

66:9 ihn, der unsre Seele am Leben erhalten und unsern Fuß nicht hat wanken lassen.

66:9 Who hath set my soul to live: and hath not suffered my feet to be moved:

66:10 Wohl hast du uns geprüft, o Gott, uns geläutert, wie man Silber läutert;

66:10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us by fire, as silver is tried.

66:11 du hast uns ins Netz geraten lassen, hast drückende Last auf unsern Rücken gelegt;

66:11 Thou hast brought us into a net, thou hast laid afflictions on our back:

66:12 Menschen hast du hinfahren lassen über unser Haupt, durch Feuer und Wasser haben wir ziehen müssen: doch endlich hast du uns ins Freie hinausgeführt.

66:12 Thou hast set men over our heads. We have passed through fire and water, and thou hast brought us out into a refreshment.

66:13 Ich komme mit Brandopfern in dein Haus, entrichte dir meine Gelübde,

66:13 I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,

66:14 zu denen meine Lippen sich verpflichtet haben, und die mein Mund verheißen in meiner Not.

66:14 Which my lips have uttered, And my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.

66:15 Brandopfer von Mastvieh will ich dir bringen samt dem Opferduft von Widdern; Rinder samt Böcken will ich zubereiten. SELA.

66:15 I will offer up to thee holocausts full of marrow, with burnt offerings of rams: I will offer to thee bullocks with goats.

66:16 Kommt her und höret, ihr Gottesfürchtigen alle: ich will erzählen, was er an meiner Seele getan!

66:16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will tell you what great things he hath done for my soul.

66:17 Zu ihm hab’ ich laut mit meinem Munde gerufen, während Lobpreis schon auf meiner Zunge lag.

66:17 I cried to him with my mouth: and I extolled him with my tongue.

66:18 Wäre mein Sinn auf Böses gerichtet gewesen, so hätte der Allherr mich nicht erhört.

66:18 If I have looked at iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.

66:19 Aber Gott hat mich erhört, hat geachtet auf mein lautes Flehen.

66:19 Therefore hath God heard me, and hath attended to the voice of my supplication.

66:20 Gepriesen sei Gott, der mein Flehen nicht verworfen und seine Gnade mir nicht versagt hat!

66:20 Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
