76:1 Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of Asaph.

76:2 Allbekannt ist Gott in Juda, in Israel ist groß sein Name;

76:2 And his place is in peace: and his abode in Sion:

76:3 in Salem erstand seine Hütte und seine Wohnstatt in Zion.

76:3 There hath he broken the powers of bows, the shield, the sword, and the battle.

76:4 Allda hat er zerbrochen des Bogens Blitze, Schild und Schwert und jegliche Kriegswehr. SELA.

76:4 Thou enlightenest wonderfully from the everlasting hills.

76:5 Ruhmvoll bist du, herrlich von den ewigen Bergen her.

76:5 All the foolish of heart were troubled. They have slept their sleep; and all the men of riches have found nothing in their hands.

76:6 Ausgeplündert wurden die tapferen Streiter, sanken hin in ihren Todesschlaf, und all den Helden versagte der Arm:

76:6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, they have all slumbered that mounted on horseback.

76:7 vor deinem Drohruf, du Gott Jakobs, sanken in Betäubung so Wagen wie Rosse.

76:7 Thou art terrible, and who shall resist thee? from that time thy wrath.

76:8 Ja du bist furchtbar, und wer kann bestehn vor dir, sobald dein Zorn entbrannt ist?

76:8 Thou hast caused judgment to be heard from heaven: the earth trembled and was still,

76:9 Vom Himmel her kündigtest du das Gericht an: da erschrak die Erde und wurde still,

76:9 When God arose in judgment, to save all the meek of the earth.

76:10 als Gott sich erhob zum Gerichtsvollzug, um allen Bedrückten auf Erden zu helfen. SELA.

76:10 For the thought of man shall give praise to thee: and the remainders of the thought shall keep holiday to thee.

76:11 Denn der Menschen Grimm wird dir zum Lobpreis, wenn zuletzt du dich gürtest mit Zornesflammen.

76:11 Vow ye, and pay to the Lord your God: all you that are round about him bring presents. To him that is terrible,

76:12 Bringt Gelübde dar und erfüllt sie dem HERRN, eurem Gott: alle, die ihn rings umgeben, müssen Geschenke dem Schrecklichen bringen,

76:12 Even to him who taketh away the spirit of princes: to the terrible with the kings of the earth.

76:13 ihm, der den Hochmut der Fürsten dämpft und furchtbar ist den Königen der Erde.
