77:1 Dem Musikmeister über die Jeduthuniden; von Asaph ein Psalm.

77:1 I cried to the Lord with my voice; to God with my voice, and he gave ear to me.

77:2 Laut ruf’ ich zu Gott, ja ich will schreien, laut ruf’ ich zu Gott: »Ach, höre mein Flehen!«

77:2 In the days of my trouble I sought God, with my hands lifted up to him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be comforted:

77:3 Wenn Drangsalszeiten über mich kommen, such’ ich den Allherrn; meine Hand ist nachts ohn’ Ermatten ausgestreckt, meine Seele will sich nicht trösten lassen.

77:3 I remembered God, and was delighted, and was exercised, and my spirit swooned away.

77:4 Denk’ ich an Gott, so muß ich seufzen; sinne ich nach, so verzagt mein Geist. SELA.

77:4 My eyes prevented the watches: I was troubled, and I spoke not.

77:5 Du hältst mir die Augenlider offen, ich bin voll Unruhe und kann nicht reden.

77:5 I thought upon the days of old: and I had in my mind the eternal years.

77:6 Ich überdenke die Tage der Vorzeit, die längst entschwundenen Jahre;

77:6 And I meditated in the night with my own heart: and I was exercised and I swept my spirit.

77:7 ich denke bei Nacht an mein Saitenspiel, ich sinne in meinem Herzen nach, und es grübelt mein Geist und fragt:

77:7 Will God then cast off for ever? or will he never be more favourable again?

77:8 »Wird der Allherr auf ewig verstoßen und niemals wieder Gnade üben?

77:8 Or will he cut off his mercy for ever, from generation to generation?

77:9 Ist seine Güte für immer erschöpft? sind seine Verheißungen abgetan für alle Zukunft?

77:9 Or will God forget to shew mercy? or will he in his anger shut up his mercies?

77:10 Hat Gott vergessen, gnädig zu sein, oder im Zorn sein Erbarmen verschlossen?« SELA.

77:10 And I said, Now have I begun: this is the change of the right hand of the most High.

77:11 Da sagte ich mir: »Das bekümmert mich schmerzlich, daß das Walten des Höchsten sich hat geändert.«

77:11 I remembered the works of the Lord: for I will be mindful of thy wonders from the beginning.

77:12 Ich will gedenken der Taten des HERRN, will gedenken deiner Wunder von der Vorzeit her,

77:12 And I will meditate on all thy works: and will be employed in thy inventions.

77:13 will sinnen über all dein Tun und deine großen Taten erwägen.

77:13 Thy way, O God, is in the holy place: who is the great God like our God?

77:14 O Gott, erhaben ist dein Weg: wo ist eine Gottheit so groß wie Gott?

77:14 Thou art the God that dost wonders. Thou hast made thy power known among the nations:

77:15 Du bist der Gott, der Wunder tut, du hast deine Macht an den Völkern bewiesen,

77:15 With thy arm thou hast redeemed thy people the children of Jacob and of Joseph.

77:16 hast dein Volk erlöst mit starkem Arm, die Kinder Jakobs und Josephs. SELA.

77:16 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee: and they were afraid, and the depths were troubled.

77:17 Als die Wasser dich sahen, o Gott, als die Wasser dich sahen, erbebten sie, auch die Tiefen des Weltmeers zitterten;

77:17 Great was the noise of the waters: the clouds sent out a sound. For thy arrows pass:

77:18 die Wolken ergossen sich in strömenden Regen, das Gewölk ließ Donner erkrachen, und deine Pfeile fuhren einher;

77:18 The voice of thy thunder in a wheel. Thy lightnings enlightened the world: the earth shook and trembled.

77:19 deine Donnerstimme dröhnte am Himmelsgewölbe, Blitze erhellten den Erdkreis, es bebte und schwankte die Erde.

77:19 Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths in many waters: and thy footsteps shall not be known.

77:20 Durchs Meer ging dein Weg dahin und dein Pfad durch gewaltige Fluten; doch deine Spuren waren nicht zu erkennen.

77:20 Thou hast conducted thy people like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

77:21 Du hast dein Volk geführt wie eine Herde unter Leitung von Mose und Aaron.
