85:1 Dem Musikmeister; von den Korahiten ein Psalm.

85:1 Lord, thou hast blessed thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob.

85:2 Du hast zwar, HERR, deinem Lande Gnade gewährt, hast Jakobs Mißgeschick gewendet,

85:2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people: thou hast covered all their sins.

85:3 hast deinem Volke die Schuld vergeben und all seine Sünde zugedeckt, SELA;

85:3 Thou hast mitigated all thy anger: thou hast turned away from the wrath of thy indignation.

85:4 hast deinem ganzen Groll entsagt, von der Glut deines Zorns dich abgewandt:

85:4 Convert us, O God our saviour: and turn off thy anger from us.

85:5 stell uns nun aber auch wieder her, du Gott unsers Heils, und laß deinen Unmut gegen uns schwinden!

85:5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever: or wilt thou extend thy wrath from generation to generation?

85:6 Willst du denn unversöhnlich gegen uns zürnen und deinen Zorn fortdauern lassen für und für?

85:6 Thou wilt turn, O God, and bring us to life: and thy people shall rejoice in thee.

85:7 Willst du uns nicht wieder neu beleben, daß dein Volk sich deiner mag freuen?

85:7 Shew us, O Lord, thy mercy; and grant us thy salvation.

85:8 Laß uns schauen, o HERR, deine Gnade und gewähre uns dein Heil!

85:8 I will hear what the Lord God will speak in me: for he will speak peace unto his people: And unto his saints: and unto them that are converted to the heart.

85:9 Ich will doch hören, was Gott der HERR verkündet! – Fürwahr, er kündet Segen an seinem Volke und seinen Frommen; nur daß sie nicht wieder sich wenden zur Torheit!

85:9 Surely his salvation is near to them that fear him: that glory may dwell in our land.

85:10 Wahrlich, sein Heil ist denen nah, die ihn fürchten, daß Herrlichkeit in unserm Lande wohne,

85:10 Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed.

85:11 daß Gnade und Treue einander begegnen, Gerechtigkeit und Friede sich küssen.

85:11 Truth is sprung out of the earth: and justice hath looked down from heaven.

85:12 Die Treue wird aus der Erde sprossen und Gerechtigkeit vom Himmel niederschauen.

85:12 For the Lord will give goodness: and our earth shall yield her fruit.

85:13 Dann wird uns der HERR auch Segen spenden, daß unser Land uns seinen Ertrag gewährt;

85:13 Justice shall walk before him: and shall set his steps in the way.

85:14 Gerechtigkeit wird vor ihm hergehn und achten auf den Weg seiner Schritte.
