86:1 Ein Gebet Davids. Neige, o HERR, dein Ohr, erhöre mich, denn elend bin ich und arm!

86:1 A prayer for David himself. Incline thy ear, O Lord, and hear me: for I am needy and poor.

86:2 Bewahre meine Seele, denn ich bin fromm; hilf du, mein Gott, deinem Knecht, der auf dich vertraut!

86:2 Preserve my soul, for I am holy: save thy servant, O my God, that trusteth in thee.

86:3 Sei mir gnädig, o Allherr, denn zu dir rufe ich allezeit.

86:3 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I have cried to thee all the day.

86:4 Erfreue das Herz deines Knechtes, denn zu dir, o Allherr, erheb’ ich meine Seele.

86:4 Give joy to the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O Lord, I have lifted up my soul.

86:5 Denn du, o Allherr, bist gütig und bereit zum Verzeihen, bist reich an Gnade für alle, die dich anrufen.

86:5 For thou, O Lord, art sweet and mild: and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon thee.

86:6 Vernimm, o HERR, mein Gebet und merke auf mein lautes Flehen!

86:6 Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer: and attend to the voice of my petition.

86:7 Bin ich in Not, so ruf’ ich zu dir, denn du erhörst mich.

86:7 I have called upon thee in the day of my trouble: because thou hast heard me.

86:8 Keiner kommt dir gleich unter den Göttern, o Allherr, und nichts ist deinen Werken vergleichbar.

86:8 There is none among the gods like unto thee, O Lord: and there is none according to thy works.

86:9 Alle Völker, die du geschaffen, werden kommen und vor dir anbeten, o Allherr, und deinen Namen ehren;

86:9 All the nations thou hast made shall come and adore before thee, O Lord: and they shall glorify thy name.

86:10 denn du bist groß, und Wunder tust du: ja du, nur du bist Gott.

86:10 For thou art great and dost wonderful things: thou art God alone.

86:11 Lehre mich, HERR, deinen Weg, daß ich ihn wandle in deiner Wahrheit; richte mein Herz auf das Eine, daß es deinen Namen fürchte!

86:11 Conduct me, O Lord, in thy way, and I will walk in thy truth: let my heart rejoice that it may fear thy name.

86:12 Preisen will ich dich, Allherr, mein Gott, von ganzem Herzen und deinen Namen ewiglich ehren;

86:12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever:

86:13 denn deine Gnade ist groß gegen mich gewesen: du hast meine Seele errettet aus der Tiefe des Totenreichs.

86:13 For thy mercy is great towards me: and thou hast delivered my soul out of the lower hell.

86:14 O Gott! Vermessene haben sich gegen mich erhoben, eine Rotte von Schreckensmännern steht mir nach dem Leben; sie haben dich nicht vor Augen.

86:14 O God, the wicked are risen up against me, and the assembly of the mighty have sought my soul: and they have not set thee before their eyes.

86:15 Doch du, o Allherr, bist ein Gott voll Erbarmen und Gnade, langmütig und reich an Gnade und Treue.

86:15 And thou, O Lord, art a God of compassion, and merciful, patient, and of much mercy, and true.

86:16 Wende dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig; verleih deine Kraft deinem Knecht und hilf dem Sohne deiner Magd!

86:16 O look upon me, and have mercy on me: give thy command to thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.

86:17 Tu ein Zeichen an mir zum Guten, daß meine Feinde es sehn und sich schämen müssen, weil du, o HERR, mein Helfer und Tröster gewesen!

86:17 Shew me a token for good: that they who hate me may see, and be confounded, because thou, O Lord, hast helped me and hast comforted me.
