6:1 Hört also, ihr Könige, und seid verständig! nehmt Lehre an, ihr Herrscher der Enden der Erde!

6:1 Hear, therefore, ye kings, and understand, learn ye that are judges of the ends of the earth.

6:2 Horcht auf, die ihr die Menge regiert und stolz seid auf die große Zahl eurer Völker!

6:2 Give ear, you that rule the people, and that please yourselves in multitudes of nations:

6:3 Denn die Herrschaft ist euch vom Herrn verliehen und die Gewalt vom Höchsten,

6:3 For power is given you by the Lord, and strength by the most High, who will examine your works: and search out your thoughts:

6:4 der eure Taten prüfen und eure Pläne erforschen wird.

6:4 Because being ministers of his kingdom, you have not judged rightly, nor kept the law of justice, nor walked according to the will of God.

6:5 Denn obgleich ihr Diener seines Reiches seid, habt ihr ungerecht gerichtet und weder das Gesetz beobachtet, noch euren Wandel nach dem Willen Gottes geführt.

6:5 Horribly and speedily will he appear to you: for a most severe judgment shall be for them that bear rule.

6:6 Schrecklich und gar bald wird er über euch kommen, denn ein strenges Gericht findet bei den Machthabern statt.

6:6 For to him that is little, mercy is granted: but the mighty shall be mightily tormented.

6:7 Denn der Geringe findet Verzeihung aus Erbarmen, aber die Gewaltigen werden gewaltig gezüchtigt werden;

6:7 For God will not except any man's person, neither will he stand in awe of any man's greatness: for he made the little and the great, and he hath equally care of all.

6:8 denn der Allherrscher nimmt auf niemand Rücksicht und scheut sich vor keiner Größe; denn klein und groß hat er geschaffen, und für alle sorgt er in gleicher Weise.

6:8 But a greater punishment is ready for the more mighty.

6:9 Den Mächtigen aber steht eine strenge Untersuchung bevor.

6:9 To you, therefore, O kings, are these my words, that you may learn wisdom, and not fall from it.

6:10 Euch also, ihr Fürsten, gelten meine Worte, damit ihr Weisheit lernt und euch nicht vergeht.

6:10 For they that have kept just things justly, shall be justified: and they that have learned these things, shall find what to answer.

6:11 Denn die, welche das Heilige heilig beobachten, werden selbst geheiligt werden, und die darin Belehrung erhalten haben, werden Rechtfertigung (oder Freisprechung) erlangen.

6:11 Covet ye, therefore, my words, and love them, and you shall have instruction.

6:12 So seid also begierig nach meinem Unterricht, tragt Verlangen danach, so werdet ihr Belehrung gewinnen.

6:12 Wisdom is glorious, and never fadeth away, and is easily seen by them that love her, and is found by them that seek her.

6:13 Strahlend und unverwelklich ist die Weisheit und läßt sich leicht erschauen von denen, die sie lieben, und leicht finden von denen, die sie suchen;

6:13 She preventeth them that covet her, so that she first sheweth herself unto them.

6:14 ja, sie kommt denen zuvor, die nach ihr verlangen, um erkannt zu werden.

6:14 He that awaketh early to seek her, shall not labour: for he shall find her sitting at his door.

6:15 Wer sich früh am Morgen nach ihr aufmacht, braucht sich nicht lange zu mühen, denn er findet sie schon an seiner Tür sitzend.

6:15 To think, therefore, upon her, is perfect understanding: and he that watcheth for her, shall quickly be secure.

6:16 Denn sich in Gedenken mit ihr beschäftigen ist der Höhepunkt der Einsicht, und wer um ihretwillen wacht, wird bald frei von Sorgen sein.

6:16 For she goeth about seeking such as are worthy of her, and she sheweth herself to them cheerfully in the ways, and meeteth them with all providence.

6:17 Denn sie selbst geht umher und sucht die ihrer Würdigen auf; sie erscheint ihnen bereitwillig auf allen ihren Wegen und tritt ihnen bei jedem Gedanken entgegen.

6:17 For the beginning of her is the most true desire of discipline.

6:18 Der Anfang zu ihr ist das völlig aufrichtige Verlangen nach Belehrung; Sorge um Belehrung aber ist Liebe zu ihr;

6:18 And the care of discipline is love: and love is the keeping of her laws: and the keeping of her laws is the firm foundation of incorruption:

6:19 Liebe zu ihr aber besteht in der Beobachtung ihrer Gebote; das Festhalten an ihren Geboten aber ist Sicherstellung der Unsterblichkeit;

6:19 And incorruption bringeth near to God.

6:20 Unsterblichkeit aber bewirkt, daß man Gott nahe ist.

6:20 Therefore the desire of wisdom bringeth to the everlasting kingdom.

6:21 So führt also das Verlangen nach Weisheit zur Herrschaft.

6:21 Love the light of wisdom, all ye that bear rule over peoples.

6:22 Also, ihr Beherrscher der Völker: wenn ihr Freude an euren Thronen und Zeptern erleben wollt, so ehrt die Weisheit, damit ihr die Herrschaft für immer behaltet.

6:22 Now what wisdom is, and what was her origin, I will declare: and I will not hide from you the mysteries of God, but will seek her out from the beginning of her birth, and bring the knowledge of her to light, and will not pass over the truth:

6:23 Was aber die Weisheit ist und wie sie entstanden ist, will ich verkünden und nicht Geheimnisse vor euch verbergen, sondern vom Anfang der Schöpfung an will ich nachforschen und ihre Kenntnis offen darlegen, ohne an der Wahrheit vorbeizugehen.

6:23 Neither will I go with consuming envy: for such a man shall not be partaker of wisdom.

6:24 Auch will ich nicht im Bunde mit dem hagern Neide kommen, denn dieser hat mit der Weisheit nichts gemein.

6:24 Now the multitude of the wise is the welfare of the whole world: and a wise king is the upholding of the people.

6:25 Eine große Anzahl von Weisen ist aber ein Glück für die Welt, und ein verständiger König ist ein Segen für das Volk.

6:25 Receive, therefore, instruction by my words, and it shall be profitable to you.

6:26 Darum laßt euch durch meine Worte unterweisen: das wird euch Nutzen bringen.
