15:1 A mild answer breaketh wrath: but a harsh word stirreth up fury.

15:1 Eine sanfte Antwort beschwichtigt den Grimm, aber ein kränkendes Wort ruft Zorn hervor. –

15:2 The tongue of the wise adorneth knowledge: but the mouth of fools bubbleth out folly.

15:2 Die Zunge der Weisen träufelt Erkenntnis (aus), aber der Mund der Toren sprudelt Dummheit hervor. –

15:3 The eyes of the Lord in every place behold the good and the evil.

15:3 An jedem Orte sind die Augen des HERRN, sie schauen auf die Bösen und auf die Guten. –

15:4 A peaceable tongue is a tree of life: but that which is immoderate, shall crush the spirit.

15:4 Sanftheit der Zunge ist ein Baum des Lebens, aber Verkehrtheit an ihr schlägt dem Herzen Wunden. –

15:5 A fool laugheth at the instruction of his father: but he that regardeth reproofs shall become prudent. In abundant justice there is the greatest strength: but the devices of the wicked shall be rooted out.

15:5 Ein Tor verschmäht die Zucht seines Vaters; wer aber Zurechtweisung annimmt, wird klug. –

15:6 The house of the just is very much strength: and in the fruits of the wicked is trouble.

15:6 Das Haus des Gerechten ist eine große Schatzkammer, aber im Einkommen des Gottlosen herrscht Zerrüttung. –

15:7 The lips of the wise shall disperse knowledge: the heart of fools shall be unlike.

15:7 Die Lippen der Weisen streuen Erkenntnis aus, aber der Toren Sinn ist verkehrt gerichtet. –

15:8 The victims of the wicked are abominable to the Lord: the vows of the just are acceptable.

15:8 Das Opfer der Gottlosen ist dem HERRN ein Greuel, aber das Gebet der Aufrichtigen ist ihm wohlgefällig. –

15:9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: he that followeth justice is beloved by him.

15:9 Der Wandel des Gottlosen ist dem HERRN ein Greuel; wer aber der Gerechtigkeit nachjagt, den hat er lieb. –

15:10 Instruction is grievous to him that forsaketh the way of life: he that hateth reproof shall die.

15:10 Schwere Züchtigung erwartet den, der den rechten Weg verläßt; wer Zurechtweisung verschmäht, wird sterben. –

15:11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more the hearts of the children of men?

15:11 Unterwelt und Abgrund liegen offen vor dem HERRN: um wieviel mehr die Herzen der Menschenkinder! –

15:12 A corrupt man loveth not one that reproveth him: nor will he go to the wise.

15:12 Der Spötter hat es nicht gern, daß man ihn zurechtweist; (darum) mag er sich nicht zu den Weisen gesellen. –

15:13 A glad heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by grief of mind the spirit is cast down.

15:13 Ein fröhliches Herz macht das Angesicht heiter, aber bei Bekümmernis des Herzens ist der Mut gebrochen. –

15:14 The heart of the wise seeketh instruction: and the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

15:14 Das Herz des Verständigen trachtet nach Erkenntnis, aber der Mund der Toren geht auf Dummheit aus. –

15:15 All the days of the poor are evil: a secure mind is like a continual feast.

15:15 Alle Lebenstage sind für den Unglücklichen trübselig, aber ein wohlgemuter Sinn ist wie ein beständiges Festmahl. –

15:16 Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures without content.

15:16 Besser wenig (Habe) bei Gottesfurcht, als reiche Schätze und Unruhe dabei. –

15:17 It is better to be invited to herbs with love, than to a fatted calf with hatred.

15:17 Besser ein Gericht Gemüse und Liebe dabei, als ein gemästeter Ochs und Haß dabei. –

15:18 A passionate man stirreth up strifes: he that is patient appeaseth those that are stirred up.

15:18 Ein zornmütiger Mensch ruft Streit hervor, aber ein langmütiger beschwichtigt den Hader. –

15:19 The way of the slothful is as a hedge of thorns: the way of the just is without offence.

15:19 Der Weg des Faulen ist wie mit Dornen verzäunt, aber der Pfad der Fleißigen ist ebene Bahn. –

15:20 A wise son maketh a father joyful: but the foolish man despiseth his mother.

15:20 Ein weiser Sohn ist seines Vaters Freude, aber ein törichter Mensch verachtet seine Mutter. –

15:21 Folly is joy to the fool: and the wise man maketh straight his steps.

15:21 Die Torheit ist dem Unverständigen eine Freude, ein verständiger Mensch aber geht seinen Weg geradeaus. –

15:22 Designs are brought to nothing where there is no counsel: but where there are many counsellors, they are established.

15:22 Wo keine Beratung stattfindet, da mißlingen die Pläne; wo aber viele Ratgeber sind, da kommen sie zustande. –

15:23 A man rejoiceth in the sentence of his mouth: and a word in due time is best.

15:23 Freude hat jeder an der (treffenden) Antwort seines Mundes, und ein Wort zu rechter Zeit – wie wertvoll ist das! –

15:24 The path of life is above for the wise, that he may decline from the lowest hell.

15:24 Der Weg des Lebens geht für den Einsichtigen aufwärts, damit er dem Totenreich drunten fernbleibe. –

15:25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: and will strengthen the borders of the widow.

15:25 Das Haus der Hochmütigen reißt der HERR nieder, aber die Grenze der Witwe legt er fest. –

15:26 Evil thoughts are an abomination to the Lord: and pure words most beautiful shall be confirmed by him.

15:26 Boshafte Anschläge sind dem HERRN ein Greuel, aber leutselige Worte sind (ihm) rein. –

15:27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house: but he that hateth bribes shall live. By mercy and faith sins are purged away: and by the fear of the Lord every one declineth from evil.

15:27 Wer unrechtmäßigen Gewinn macht, zerrüttet sein (eigenes) Haus; wer aber Bestechungsgeschenke haßt, wird leben. –

15:28 The mind of the just studieth obedience: the mouth of the wicked overfloweth with evils.

15:28 Das Herz des Gerechten überlegt, um eine Antwort zu geben; aber der Mund der Gottlosen sprudelt Bosheiten hervor. –

15:29 The Lord is far from the wicked: and he will hear the prayers of the just.

15:29 Von den Gottlosen bleibt der HERR fern, aber das Gebet der Gerechten vernimmt er. –

15:30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the soul: a good name maketh the bones fat.

15:30 Ein freundlicher Blick erfreut das Herz; eine gute Botschaft erquickt Mark und Bein. –

15:31 The ear that heareth the reproofs of life, shall abide in the midst of the wise.

15:31 Ein Ohr, das auf heilsame Zurechtweisung hört, weilt gern im Kreise der Weisen. –

15:32 He that rejecteth instruction, despiseth his own soul: but he that yieldeth to reproof, possesseth understanding.

15:32 Wer Unterweisung verschmäht, mißachtet (das Heil) seiner Seele; wer aber auf Zurechtweisung hört, erwirbt sich Einsicht. –

15:33 The fear of the Lord is the lesson of wisdom: and humility goeth before glory.

15:33 Die Furcht des HERRN ist Unterweisung zur Weisheit, und vor der Ehre geht die Demut her.
