132:1 A gradual canticle. O Lord, remember David, and all his meekness.

132:1 Ein Wallfahrtslied. Gedenke, HERR, dem David alle seine Mühsal,

132:2 How he swore to the Lord, he vowed a vow to the God of Jacob:

132:2 ihm, der dem HERRN einst zuschwor und gelobte Jakobs mächtigem Gott:

132:3 If I shall enter into the tabernacle of my house: if I shall go up into the bed wherein I lie:

132:3 »Wahrlich, ich will mein Wohnzelt nicht betreten, nicht mein Ruhelager besteigen;

132:4 If I shall give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids,

132:4 ich will meinen Augen den Schlaf nicht gönnen, nicht Schlummer meinen Augenlidern,

132:5 Or rest to my temples: until I find out a place for the Lord, a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

132:5 bis eine Stätte dem HERRN ich gefunden, eine Wohnung für Jakobs mächtigen Gott!«

132:6 Behold we have heard of it in Ephrata: we have found it in the fields of the wood.

132:6 Ja, wir haben von ihr gehört in Ephrath, sie gefunden im Gefilde von Jaar:

132:7 We will go into his tabernacle: we will adore in the place where his feet stood.

132:7 »Laßt uns in seine Wohnung treten, uns niederwerfen vor dem Schemel seiner Füße!

132:8 Arise, O Lord, into thy resting place: thou and the ark, which thou hast sanctified.

132:8 Brich auf, o HERR, zu deiner Ruhstatt, du und die Lade (das Sinnbild) deiner Macht!

132:9 Let thy priests be clothed with justice: and let thy saints rejoice.

132:9 Laß deine Priester sich kleiden in Gerechtigkeit, und deine Frommen mögen jubeln!

132:10 For thy servant David's sake, turn not away the face of thy anointed.

132:10 Um deines Knechtes David willen weise das Antlitz deines Gesalbten nicht ab!«

132:11 The Lord hath sworn truth to David, and he will not make it void: of the fruit of thy womb I will set upon thy throne.

132:11 Geschworen hat der HERR dem David einen Eid, einen wahren Eid, von dem er nicht abgeht: »Von deinen leiblichen Sprossen will einen ich setzen auf deinen Thron.

132:12 If thy children will keep my covenant, and these my testimonies which I shall teach them: Their children also for evermore shall sit upon thy throne.

132:12 Wenn deine Söhne meinen Bund beachten und meine Zeugnisse, die ich sie lehren werde, so sollen auch ihre Söhne für und für sitzen auf deinem Thron.«

132:13 For the Lord hath chosen Sion: he hath chosen it for his dwelling.

132:13 Denn der HERR hat Zion erwählt, hat es zu seiner Wohnung begehrt:

132:14 This is my rest for ever and ever: here will I dwell, for I have chosen it.

132:14 »Dies ist meine Ruhstatt für immer, hier will ich wohnen, weil ich’s so begehrt.

132:15 Blessing I will bless her widow: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

132:15 Zions Nahrung will ich reichlich segnen, seine Armen sättigen mit Brot;

132:16 I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall rejoice with exceeding great joy.

132:16 seine Priester werde in Heil ich kleiden, seine Frommen sollen laut frohlocken.

132:17 There will I bring forth a horn to David: I have prepared a lamp for my anointed.

132:17 Dort will ich Davids Macht erblühen lassen; eine Leuchte hab’ ich meinem Gesalbten bereitet.

132:18 His enemies I will clothe with confusion: but upon him shall my sanctification flourish.

132:18 Seine Feinde will ich kleiden in Schmach, doch ihm soll auf dem Haupt die Krone glänzen.«
