50:1 A psalm for Asaph. The God of gods, the Lord hath spoken: and he hath called the earth. From the rising of the sun, to the going down thereof:

50:1 Ein Psalm von Asaph. Der Gott der Götter, der HERR, redet und ruft der Erde zu vom Aufgang der Sonne bis zu ihrem Niedergang;

50:2 When Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had sinned with Bethsabee. [2 Kings 12.]

50:2 aus Zion, der Krone der Schönheit, strahlt Gott in lichtem Glanz hervor:

50:3 God shall come manifestly: our God shall come, and shall not keep silence. A fire shall burn before him: and a mighty tempest shall be round about him.

50:3 unser Gott kommt und kann nicht schweigen, verzehrendes Feuer geht vor ihm her, und rings um ihn her stürmt es gewaltig.

50:4 He shall call heaven from above, and the earth, to judge his people.

50:4 Er ruft dem Himmel droben zu und der Erde, um sein Volk zu richten:

50:5 Gather ye together his saints to him: who set his covenant before sacrifices.

50:5 »Versammelt mir meine Gesetzestreuen, die den Bund mit mir geschlossen beim Opfer!«

50:6 And the heavens shall declare his justice: for God is judge.

50:6 Da taten die Himmel seine Gerechtigkeit kund; denn Gott selbst ist’s, der da Gericht hält. SELA.

50:7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak: O Israel, and I will testify to thee: I am God, thy God.

50:7 »Höre, mein Volk, und laß mich reden, Israel, daß ich dich ernstlich warne: Gott, dein Gott bin ich!

50:8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices: and thy burnt offerings are always in my sight.

50:8 Nicht deiner Opfer wegen rüge ich dich, sind doch deine Brandopfer stets mir vor Augen.

50:9 I will not take calves out of thy house: nor he-goats out of thy flocks.

50:9 Doch ich mag nicht Stiere nehmen aus deinem Hause, nicht Böcke aus deinen Hürden;

50:10 For all the beasts of the woods are mine: the cattle on the hills, and the oxen.

50:10 denn mein ist alles Wild des Waldes, das Getier auf meinen Bergen zu Tausenden.

50:11 I know all the fowls of the air: and with me is the beauty of the field.

50:11 Ich kenne jeden Vogel auf den Bergen, und was auf dem Felde sich regt, steht mir zur Verfügung.

50:12 If I should be hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

50:12 Hätte ich Hunger: ich brauchte es dir nicht zu sagen, denn mein ist der Erdkreis und all seine Fülle.

50:13 Shall I eat the flesh of bullocks? or shall I drink the blood of goats?

50:13 Esse ich etwa das Fleisch von Stieren, und soll ich das Blut von Böcken trinken?

50:14 Offer to God the sacrifice of praise: and pay thy vows to the most High.

50:14 Bringe Dank dem HERRN als Opfer dar und bezahle so dem Höchsten deine Gelübde,

50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

50:15 und rufe mich an am Tage der Not, so will ich dich retten, und du sollst mich preisen!«

50:16 But to the sinner God hath said: Why dost thou declare my justices, and take my covenant in thy mouth?

50:16 Zum Gottlosen aber spricht der Allherr: »Was hast du meine Satzungen aufzuzählen und meinen Bund im Munde zu führen,

50:17 Seeing thou hast hated discipline: and hast cast my words behind thee.

50:17 da du selbst doch die Zucht mißachtest und meinen Worten den Rücken kehrst?

50:18 If thou didst see a thief thou didst run with him: and with adulterers thou hast been a partaker.

50:18 Siehst du einen Dieb, so befreundest du dich mit ihm, und mit Ehebrechern hast du Gemeinschaft;

50:19 Thy mouth hath abounded with evil, and thy tongue framed deceits.

50:19 deinem Munde läßt du freien Lauf zur Bosheit, und deine Zunge zettelt Betrug an;

50:20 Sitting thou didst speak against thy brother, and didst lay a scandal against thy mother's son:

50:20 du sitzest da und redest (Böses) gegen deinen Bruder und bringst den Sohn deiner Mutter in Verruf!

50:21 These things hast thou done, and I was silent. Thou thoughtest unjustly that I should be like to thee: but I will reprove thee, and set before thy face.

50:21 Das (alles) hast du getan, und ich habe geschwiegen; da hast du gedacht, ich sei so wie du. Das mache ich dir zum Vorwurf und gebe dir’s zu bedenken.

50:22 Understand these things, you that forget God; lest he snatch you away, and there be none to deliver you.

50:22 O beherzigt das wohl, ihr Gottvergeßnen: sonst raffe ich euch hinweg ohne Rettung!

50:23 The sacrifice of praise shall glorify me: and there is the way by which I will shew him the salvation of God.

50:23 Wer Dank als Opfer darbringt, erweist mir Ehre, und wer unsträflich wandelt, den lasse ich schauen Gottes Heil.«
