115:1 Nicht uns, o HERR, nicht uns, nein, deinem Namen schaffe Ehre um deiner Gnade, um deiner Treue willen!

115:1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us; but to thy name give glory.

115:2 Warum sollen die Heiden sagen: »Wo ist denn ihr Gott?«

115:2 For thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake: lest the Gentiles should say: Where is their God?

115:3 Unser Gott ist ja im Himmel: alles, was ihm gefällt, vollführt er.

115:3 But our God is in heaven: he hath done all things whatsoever he would.

115:4 Ihre Götzen sind Silber und Gold, Machwerk von Menschenhänden.

115:4 The idols of the Gentiles are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men.

115:5 Sie haben einen Mund und können nicht reden, haben Augen und sehen nicht;

115:5 They have mouths and speak not: they have eyes and see not.

115:6 sie haben Ohren und können nicht hören, haben eine Nase und riechen nicht;

115:6 They have ears and hear not: they have noses and smell not.

115:7 mit ihren Händen können sie nicht greifen, mit ihren Füßen nicht gehen; kein Laut dringt aus ihrer Kehle.

115:7 They have hands and feel not: they have feet and walk not: neither shall they cry out through their throat.

115:8 Ihnen gleich sind ihre Verfertiger, jeder, der auf sie vertraut.

115:8 Let them that make them become like unto them: and all such as trust in them.

115:9 Du, Israel, vertraue auf den HERRN! – Ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild ist er.

115:9 The house of Israel hath hoped in the Lord: he is their helper and their protector.

115:10 Ihr vom Hause Aarons, vertraut auf den HERRN! – Ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild ist er.

115:10 The house of Aaron hath hoped in the Lord: he is their helper and their protector.

115:11 Ihr, die ihr fürchtet den HERRN, vertraut auf den HERRN! – Ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild ist er.

115:11 They that fear the Lord have hoped in the Lord: he is their helper and their protector.

115:12 Der HERR hat unser gedacht: er wird segnen, segnen das Haus Israels, segnen das Haus Aarons;

115:12 The Lord hath been mindful of us, and hath blessed us. He hath blessed the house of Israel: he hath blessed the house of Aaron.

115:13 er wird segnen, die den HERRN fürchten, die Kleinen samt den Großen.

115:13 He hath blessed all that fear the Lord, both little and great.

115:14 Der HERR wolle euch mehren, euch selbst und eure Kinder!

115:14 May the Lord add blessings upon you: upon you, and upon your children.

115:15 Gesegnet seid ihr vom HERRN, der Himmel und Erde geschaffen!

115:15 Blessed be you of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

115:16 Der Himmel ist der Himmel des Allherrn, die Erde aber hat er den Menschen gegeben.

115:16 The heaven of heaven is the Lord's: but the earth he has given to the children of men.

115:17 Nicht die Toten preisen den HERRN und keiner, der ins stille Land gefahren.

115:17 The dead shall not praise thee, O Lord: nor any of them that go down to hell.

115:18 Doch wir, wir preisen den HERRN von nun an bis in Ewigkeit. Halleluja!

115:18 But we that live bless the Lord: from this time now and for ever.
