116:1 Ich liebe den HERRN, denn er hat erhört mein flehentlich Rufen;

116:1 I have loved, because the Lord will hear the voice of my prayer.

116:2 ja, er hat sein Ohr mir zugeneigt: ich will zu ihm rufen mein Leben lang!

116:2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me: and in my days I will call upon him.

116:3 Umschlungen hatten mich des Todes Netze und die Ängste der Unterwelt mich befallen, in Drangsal und Kummer war ich geraten.

116:3 The sorrows of death have compassed me: and the perils of hell have found me. I met with trouble and sorrow:

116:4 Da rief ich den Namen des HERRN an: »Ach, HERR, errette meine Seele!«

116:4 And I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, deliver my soul.

116:5 Gnädig ist der HERR und gerecht, und unser Gott ist voll Erbarmens;

116:5 The Lord is merciful and just, and our God sheweth mercy.

116:6 der HERR schützt den, der unbeirrt ihm traut: ich war schwach geworden, aber er half mir.

116:6 The Lord is the keeper of little ones: I was humbled, and he delivered me.

116:7 Kehre zurück, meine Seele, zu deiner Ruhe, denn der HERR hat Gutes an dir getan!

116:7 Turn, O my soul, into thy rest: for the Lord hath been bountiful to thee.

116:8 Ja, du hast mein Leben vom Tode errettet, meine Augen vom Weinen, meinen Fuß vom Anstoß;

116:8 For he hath delivered my soul from death: my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.

116:9 ich werde noch wandeln vor dem HERRN in den Landen des Lebens.

116:9 I will please the Lord in the land of the living.

116:10 Ich habe Glauben gehalten, wenn ich auch sagte: »Ich bin gar tief gebeugt«;

116:10 I have believed, therefore have I spoken; but I have been humbled exceedingly.

116:11 in meiner Verzagtheit hab’ ich gesagt: »Die Menschen sind Lügner allesamt.«

116:11 I said in my excess: Every man is a liar.

116:12 Wie soll ich dem HERRN vergelten alles, was er mir Gutes getan?

116:12 What shall I render to the Lord, for all the things that he hath rendered to me?

116:13 Den Becher des Heils will ich erheben und den Namen des HERRN anrufen;

116:13 I will take the chalice of salvation; and I will call upon the name of the Lord.

116:14 meine Gelübde will ich bezahlen dem HERRN, ja angesichts seines ganzen Volkes.

116:14 I will pay my vows to the Lord before all his people:

116:15 Kostbar ist in den Augen des HERRN der Tod seiner Frommen.

116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

116:16 Ach, HERR, ich bin ja dein Knecht, ich bin dein Knecht, der Sohn deiner Magd; meine Bande hast du gelöst:

116:16 O Lord, for I am thy servant: I am thy servant, and the son of thy handmaid. Thou hast broken my bonds:

116:17 dir will ich Dankopfer bringen und den Namen des HERRN anrufen;

116:17 I will sacrifice to thee the sacrifice of praise, and I will call upon the name of the Lord.

116:18 meine Gelübde will ich bezahlen dem HERRN, ja angesichts seines ganzen Volkes,

116:18 I will pay my vows to the Lord in the sight of all his people:

116:19 in den Vorhöfen am Hause des HERRN, in deiner Mitte, Jerusalem! Halleluja!

116:19 In the courts of the house of the Lord, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.
