36:1 Dem Musikmeister; vom Knechte des Herrn, von David.

36:1 The unjust hath said within himself, that he would sin: there is no fear of God before his eyes.

36:2 Eingebung der Sünde beherrscht den Frevler, so läßt es im Innern meines Herzens sich hören: kein Zagen vor Gott steht ihm vor Augen;

36:2 For in his sight he hath done deceitfully, that his iniquity may be found unto hatred.

36:3 denn sie verblendet ihn mit Schmeichelreden, daß er in Verschuldung gerät, indem er Haß ausübt.

36:3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and guile: he would not understand that he might do well.

36:4 Was er ausspricht, ist Unheil und Trug; aufgehört hat er, verständig zu sein, um gut zu handeln.

36:4 He hath devised iniquity on his bed, he hath set himself on every way that is not good: but evil he hath not hated.

36:5 Unheil sinnt er auf seinem Lager, tritt hin auf den Weg der Bosheit, das Schlechte verabscheut er nicht.

36:5 O Lord, thy mercy is in heaven, and thy truth reacheth even to the clouds.

36:6 O HERR, bis zum Himmel reicht deine Gnade, deine Treue bis hin an die Wolken;

36:6 Thy justice is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are a great deep. Men and beasts thou wilt preserve, O Lord:

36:7 deine Gerechtigkeit steht fest wie die Gottesberge, deine Gerichte gleichen dem weiten Weltmeer; Menschen und Tieren hilfst du, o HERR.

36:7 O how hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! But the children of men shall put their trust under the covert of thy wings.

36:8 Wie köstlich ist deine Gnade, o Gott, daß Menschenkinder sich bergen im Schatten deiner Flügel!

36:8 They shall be inebriated with the plenty of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the torrent of thy pleasure.

36:9 Sie laben sich an den reichen Gütern deines Hauses, und du tränkst sie mit dem Strom deiner Wonnen;

36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life; and in thy light we shall see light.

36:10 denn bei dir ist der Brunnquell des Lebens, und in deinem Lichte schauen wir Licht.

36:10 Extend thy mercy to them that know thee, and thy justice to them that are right in heart.

36:11 Erhalte deine Gnade denen, die dich kennen, und deine Gerechtigkeit den redlich Gesinnten!

36:11 Let not the foot of pride come to me, and let not the hand of the sinner move me.

36:12 Laß den Fuß des Hochmuts mich nicht treten und die Hand der Frevler mich nicht vertreiben!

36:12 There the workers of iniquity are fallen, they are cast out, and could not stand.

36:13 Einst werden die Übeltäter gefallen sein, niedergestürzt und können nicht wieder aufstehn.
