63:1 Ein Psalm Davids, als er in der Wüste Juda war.

63:1 Unto the end, a psalm for David.

63:2 O Gott, du bist mein Gott: dich suche ich, es dürstet nach dir meine Seele; es lechzt nach dir mein Leib wie dürres, schmachtendes, wasserloses Land.

63:2 In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before thee, to see thy power and thy glory.

63:3 So hab’ ich nach dir im Heiligtum ausgeschaut, um deine Macht und Herrlichkeit zu erblicken;

63:3 For thy mercy is better than lives: thee my lips will praise.

63:4 denn deine Gnade ist besser als das Leben: meine Lippen sollen dich rühmen.

63:4 Thus will I bless thee all my life long: and in thy name I will lift up my hands.

63:5 So will ich dich preisen mein Leben lang, in deinem Namen meine Hände erheben.

63:5 Let my soul be filled as with marrow and fatness: and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.

63:6 Wie an Mark und Fett ersättigt sich meine Seele, und mit jubelnden Lippen lobpreist mein Mund,

63:6 If I have remembered thee upon my bed, I will meditate on thee in the morning:

63:7 so oft ich deiner gedenke auf meinem Lager, in den Stunden der Nacht über dich sinne;

63:7 Because thou hast been my helper. And I will rejoice under the covert of thy wings:

63:8 denn du bist mir ein Helfer gewesen, und im Schatten deiner Flügel darf ich jubeln.

63:8 My soul hath stuck close to thee: thy right hand hath received me.

63:9 Meine Seele klammert sich an dich, aufrecht hält mich deine rechte Hand.

63:9 But they have fought my soul in vain, they shall go into the lower parts of the earth:

63:10 Doch sie, die nach dem Leben mir trachten, mich zu verderben, sie werden in der Erde unterste Tiefen fahren.

63:10 They shall be delivered into the hands of the sword, they shall be the portions of foxes.

63:11 Man wird sie der Schärfe des Schwerts überliefern; die Beute der Schakale werden sie sein.

63:11 But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things.

63:12 Der König dagegen wird Gottes sich freuen: Ruhm wird ernten ein jeder, der bei ihm schwört; den Lügnern dagegen wird der Mund gestopft werden.
