119:1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.

119:1 Wohl denen, deren Wandel unsträflich ist, die einhergehn im Gesetz des HERRN!

119:2 Blessed are they that search his testimonies: that seek him with their whole heart.

119:2 Wohl denen, die seine Zeugnisse beobachten, die mit ganzem Herzen ihn suchen,

119:3 For they that work iniquity, have not walked in his ways.

119:3 die auch kein Unrecht verüben, sondern auf seinen Wegen gehen!

119:4 Thou hast commanded thy commandments to be kept most diligently.

119:4 Du selbst hast deine Befehle erlassen, daß man sie sorglich befolge.

119:5 O! that my ways may be directed to keep thy justifications.

119:5 Ach möchte doch mein Wandel fest sein in der Befolgung deiner Satzungen!

119:6 Then shall I not be confounded, when I shall look into all thy commandments.

119:6 Dann werde ich nicht beschämt sein, wenn ich alle deine Gebote vor Augen habe.

119:7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned the judgments of thy justice.

119:7 Ich will dir aufrichtigen Herzens danken, indem ich die Rechte deiner Gerechtigkeit lerne.

119:8 I will keep thy justifications: O! do not thou utterly forsake me.

119:8 Deine Satzungen will ich halten: verlaß mich nicht ganz und gar!

119:9 By what doth a young man correct his way? by observing thy words.

119:9 Wie wird ein Jüngling seinen Wandel rein gestalten? Wenn er ihn führt nach deinem Wort.

119:10 With my whole heart have I sought after thee: let me not stray from thy commandments.

119:10 Mit ganzem Herzen suche ich dich: laß mich von deinen Geboten nicht abirren!

119:11 Thy words have I hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against thee.

119:11 In meinem Herzen wahre ich dein Wort, um mich nicht gegen dich zu verfehlen.

119:12 Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy justifications.

119:12 Gepriesen seist du, o HERR: lehre mich deine Satzungen!

119:13 With my lips I have pronounced all the judgments of thy mouth.

119:13 Mit meinen Lippen zähle ich her alle Rechte deines Mundes.

119:14 I have been delighted in the way of thy testimonies, as in all riches.

119:14 An dem Wege deiner Zeugnisse habe ich Freude wie über irgendwelchen Reichtum.

119:15 I will meditate on thy commandments: and I will consider thy ways.

119:15 Über deine Befehle will ich sinnen und achten auf deine Pfade.

119:16 I will think of thy justifications: I will not forget thy words.

119:16 An deinen Satzungen habe ich meine Lust, will deine Worte nicht vergessen.

119:17 Give bountifully to thy servant, enliven me: and I shall keep thy words.

119:17 Tu Gutes an deinem Knecht, auf daß ich leben bleibe, so will ich deine Worte befolgen.

119:18 Open thou my eyes: and I will consider the wondrous things of thy law.

119:18 Öffne mir die Augen, daß ich klar erkenne die Wunder in deinem Gesetz.

119:19 I am a sojourner on the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.

119:19 Ich bin nur ein Gast auf Erden: verbirg deine Gebote nicht vor mir.

119:20 My soul hath coveted to long for thy justifications, at all times.

119:20 Meine Seele verzehrt sich vor Sehnsucht nach deinen Rechten allezeit.

119:21 Thou hast rebuked the proud: they are cursed who decline from thy commandments.

119:21 Gedroht hast du den Stolzen; verflucht sind, die von deinen Geboten abweichen.

119:22 Remove from me reproach and contempt: because I have sought after thy testimonies.

119:22 Wälze Schmach und Verachtung von mir ab, denn ich beobachte deine Zeugnisse.

119:23 For princes sat, and spoke against me: but thy servant was employed in thy justifications.

119:23 Mögen auch Fürsten sitzen und wider mich beraten: dein Knecht sinnt doch über deine Satzungen nach.

119:24 For thy testimonies are my meditation: and thy justifications my counsel.

119:24 Ja, deine Zeugnisse sind meine Freude, meine Ratgeber sind sie.

119:25 My soul hath cleaved to the pavement: quicken thou me according to thy word.

119:25 Mein Mut ist in den Staub gesunken: belebe mich wieder nach deinem Wort.

119:26 I have declared my ways, and thou hast heard me: teach me thy justifications.

119:26 Ich habe dir meine Lage geschildert, da hast du mich erhört: lehre mich deine Satzungen.

119:27 Make me to understand the way of thy justifications: and I shall be exercised in thy wondrous works.

119:27 Laß mich den Weg verstehn, den deine Befehle gebieten, so will ich sinnen über deine Wunder.

119:28 My soul hath slumbered through heaviness: strengthen thou me in thy words.

119:28 Mein Herz zerfließt vor Kummer in Tränen; richte mich auf nach deinen Worten.

119:29 Remove from me the way of iniquity: and out of thy law have mercy on me.

119:29 Den Weg der Lüge halte fern von mir, doch begnade mich mit deinem Gesetz!

119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments I have not forgotten.

119:30 Den Weg der Treue habe ich erwählt, deine Rechte unanstößig befunden.

119:31 I have stuck to thy testimonies, O Lord: put me not to shame.

119:31 Ich halte fest an deinen Zeugnissen: HERR, laß mich nicht zuschanden werden!

119:32 I have run the way of thy commandments, when thou didst enlarge my heart.

119:32 Den Weg deiner Gebote will ich laufen, denn du machst mir weit das Herz.

119:33 Set before me for a law the way of thy justifications, O Lord: and I will always seek after it.

119:33 Lehre mich, HERR, den Weg deiner Satzungen, so will ich ihn innehalten bis ans Ende.

119:34 Give me understanding, and I will search thy law; and I will keep it with my whole heart.

119:34 Verleihe mir Einsicht, damit ich deine Weisung beachte und sie mit ganzem Herzen befolge.

119:35 Lead me into the path of thy commandments; for this same I have desired.

119:35 Laß mich wandeln auf dem Pfade deiner Gebote, denn an diesem habe ich meine Freude.

119:36 Incline my heart into thy testimonies and not to covetousness.

119:36 Neige mein Herz deinen Zeugnissen zu und nicht zur Gewinnsucht.

119:37 Turn away my eyes that they may not behold vanity: quicken me in thy way.

119:37 Wende meine Augen ab, daß sie nicht nach Eitlem schauen; belebe mich auf deinen Wegen.

119:38 Establish thy word to thy servant, in thy fear.

119:38 Erfülle an deinem Knechte deine Verheißung, die darauf abzielt, daß man dich fürchte.

119:39 Turn away my reproach, which I have apprehended: for thy judgments are delightful.

119:39 Wende ab meine Schmach, vor der mir graut; denn deine Rechte sind heilsam.

119:40 Behold I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy justice.

119:40 Fürwahr, ich sehne mich nach deinen Befehlen: belebe mich durch deine Gerechtigkeit!

119:41 Let thy mercy also come upon me, O Lord: thy salvation according to thy word.

119:41 Laß deine Gnadenerweise mir widerfahren, o HERR, deine Hilfe nach deinem Wort,

119:42 So shall I answer them that reproach me in any thing; that I have trusted in thy words.

119:42 daß ich dem, der mich schmäht, zu antworten weiß; denn ich verlasse mich auf dein Wort.

119:43 And take not thou the word of truth utterly out of my mouth: for in thy words, I have hoped exceedingly.

119:43 Und entzieh meinem Munde nicht ganz das Wort der Wahrheit; denn ich harre auf deine Rechte.

119:44 So shall I always keep thy law, for ever and ever.

119:44 Und befolgen will ich dein Gesetz beständig, immer und ewiglich;

119:45 And I walked at large: because I have sought after thy commandments.

119:45 so werde ich wandeln auf freier Bahn; denn ich habe mich stets um deine Befehle gekümmert;

119:46 And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings: and I was not ashamed.

119:46 und ich will von deinen Zeugnissen reden vor Königen, ohne mich zu scheuen;

119:47 I meditated also on thy commandments, which I loved.

119:47 denn ich habe meine Freude an deinen Geboten, die mir lieb sind,

119:48 And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments, which I loved: and I was exercised in thy justifications.

119:48 und hebe meine Hände auf zu deinen Geboten, [die mir lieb sind,] will über deine Satzungen sinnen.

119:49 Be thou mindful of thy word to thy servant, in which thou hast given me hope.

119:49 Halte deinem Knecht getreulich dein Wort, auf das du mich hast hoffen lassen!

119:50 This hath comforted me in my humiliation: because thy word hath enlivened me.

119:50 Das ist mein Trost in meinem Elend, daß dein Wort mich neu belebt hat.

119:51 The proud did iniquitously altogether: but I declined not from thy law.

119:51 Die Übermüt’gen verspotten mich maßlos, doch ich bin von deinem Gesetz nicht abgewichen.

119:52 I remembered, O Lord, thy judgments of old: and I was comforted.

119:52 Gedenke ich deiner Rechte aus der Vorzeit, so fühle ich mich, o HERR, getröstet.

119:53 A fainting hath taken hold of me, because of the wicked that forsake thy law.

119:53 Heißer Zorn erfaßt mich wegen der Gottlosen, die dein Gesetz verlassen haben.

119:54 Thy justifications were the subject of my song, in the place of my pilgrimage.

119:54 Deine Satzungen sind mir zu Lobgesängen geworden im Hause meiner Pilgerschaft.

119:55 In the night I have remembered thy name, O Lord: and have kept thy law.

119:55 In der Nacht sogar gedenke ich deines Namens, o HERR, und befolge dein Gesetz.

119:56 This happened to me: because I sought after thy justifications.

119:56 Das ist mir zuteil geworden, daß ich deine Befehle befolgt habe.

119:57 O Lord, my portion, I have said, I would keep thy law.

119:57 Meine Aufgabe ist, o HERR, ich bekenne es, deine Worte zu befolgen.

119:58 I entreated thy face with all my heart: have mercy on me according to thy word.

119:58 Von ganzem Herzen fleh’ ich dich an: »Sei mir gnädig nach deiner Verheißung!«

119:59 I have thought on my ways: and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.

119:59 Ich habe über meine Wege nachgedacht und lenke (daher) meine Schritte zu deinen Zeugnissen zurück.

119:60 I am ready, and am not troubled: that I may keep thy commandments.

119:60 Ich eile und säume nicht, deine Gebote zu befolgen.

119:61 The cords of the wicked have encompassed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.

119:61 Die Fallstricke der Gottlosen umringen mich; dennoch vergesse ich dein Gesetz nicht.

119:62 I rose at midnight to give praise to thee; for the judgments of thy justification.

119:62 In der Mitte der Nacht stehe ich auf, um dir zu danken für die Verordnungen deiner Gerechtigkeit.

119:63 I am a partaker with all them that fear thee, and that keep thy commandments.

119:63 Befreundet bin ich mit allen, die dich fürchten, und mit denen, die deine Befehle befolgen.

119:64 The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy justifications.

119:64 Deiner Gnade, o HERR, ist die Erde voll: lehre mich deine Satzungen!

119:65 Thou hast done well with thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word.

119:65 Gutes hast du an deinem Knechte getan, o HERR, nach deiner Verheißung.

119:66 Teach me goodness and discipline and knowledge; for I have believed thy commandments.

119:66 Rechte Einsicht und Erkenntnis lehre mich, denn ich vertraue auf deine Gebote.

119:67 Before I was humbled I offended; therefore have I kept thy word.

119:67 Bevor ich gedemütigt wurde, ging ich irre; jetzt aber beobachte ich dein Wort.

119:68 Thou art good; and in thy goodness teach me thy justifications.

119:68 Du bist gütig und erweisest Gutes: lehre mich deine Satzungen!

119:69 The iniquity of the proud hath been multiplied over me: but I will seek thy commandments with my whole heart.

119:69 Lügen haben die Stolzen gegen mich erdichtet, ich aber befolge deine Befehle mit ganzem Herzen.

119:70 Their heart is curdled like milk: but I have meditated on thy law.

119:70 Unempfindlich wie von Fett ist ihr Herz, ich aber habe Freude an deinem Gesetz.

119:71 It is good for me that thou hast humbled me, that I may learn thy justifications.

119:71 Gut war’s für mich, daß ich gedemütigt wurde, damit ich deine Satzungen lernte.

119:72 The law of thy mouth is good to me, above thousands of gold and silver.

119:72 Die Weisung deines Mundes ist mir lieber als Tausende von Gold- und Silberstücken.

119:73 Thy hands have made me and formed me: give me understanding, and I will learn thy commandments.

119:73 Deine Hände haben mich geschaffen und gebildet: verleihe mir nun auch Einsicht, daß ich deine Gebote lerne!

119:74 They that fear thee shall see me, and shall be glad: because I have greatly hoped in thy words.

119:74 Die dich fürchten, werden mich sehen und sich freun; denn ich habe auf dein Wort geharrt.

119:75 I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are equity: and in thy truth thou hast humbled me.

119:75 Ich weiß, o HERR, daß deine Gerichte gerecht sind und du mich in Treue gedemütigt hast.

119:76 O! let thy mercy be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.

119:76 Laß doch deine Gnade mir Trost gewähren, wie du deinem Knechte verheißen hast!

119:77 Let thy tender mercies come unto me, and I shall live: for thy law is my meditation.

119:77 Laß mir dein Erbarmen widerfahren, daß ich auflebe, denn dein Gesetz ist meine Lust.

119:78 Let the proud be ashamed, because they have done unjustly towards me: but I will be employed in thy commandments.

119:78 Laß die Stolzen zuschanden werden, weil sie ohne Grund mich niederdrücken; ich aber sinne über deine Befehle.

119:79 Let them that fear thee turn to me: and they that know thy testimonies.

119:79 Laß mir sich zuwenden, die dich fürchten und die deine Zeugnisse anerkennen!

119:80 Let my heart be undefiled in thy justifications, that I may not be confounded.

119:80 Mein Herz halte treu an deinen Satzungen fest, auf daß ich nicht zuschanden werde.

119:81 My soul hath fainted after thy salvation: and in thy word I have very much hoped.

119:81 Meine Seele schmachtet nach deiner Hilfe: ich harre auf dein Wort.

119:82 My eyes have failed for thy word, saying: When wilt thou comfort me?

119:82 Meine Augen schmachten nach deiner Verheißung, indem ich frage: »Wann wirst du mich trösten?«

119:83 For I am become like a bottle in the frost: I have not forgotten thy justifications.

119:83 Bin ich auch wie ein Schlauch im Rauch geworden, hab’ ich doch deine Satzungen nicht vergessen.

119:84 How many are the days of thy servant: when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?

119:84 Wie viele sind noch der Lebenstage deines Knechts? Wann hältst du Gericht über meine Verfolger?

119:85 The wicked have told me fables: but not as thy law.

119:85 Übermütige haben mir Gruben gegraben, sie, die sich nicht nach deinem Gesetz verhalten.

119:86 All thy statutes are truth: they have persecuted me unjustly, do thou help me.

119:86 Alle deine Gebote sind Wahrheit; mit Lüge verfolgt man mich: so hilf mir!

119:87 They had almost made an end of me upon earth: but I have not forsaken thy commandments.

119:87 Fast hätten sie mich im Lande umgebracht; doch ich verlasse deine Befehle nicht.

119:88 Quicken thou me according to thy mercy: and I shall keep the testimonies of thy mouth.

119:88 Nach deiner Gnade erhalte mich am Leben, so will ich das Zeugnis deines Mundes befolgen.

119:89 For ever, O Lord, thy word standeth firm in heaven.

119:89 Auf ewige Zeit, o HERR, steht fest dein Wort im Himmel.

119:90 Thy truth unto all generations: thou hast founded the earth, and it continueth.

119:90 Von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht währt deine Treue; du hast die Erde festgestellt, und sie steht;

119:91 By thy ordinance the day goeth on: for all things serve thee.

119:91 nach deinen Verordnungen stehn sie noch heute, denn alle Dinge sind dir dienstbar.

119:92 Unless thy law had been my meditation, I had then perhaps perished in my abjection.

119:92 Wäre dein Gesetz nicht meine Freude gewesen, so wär’ ich in meinem Elend vergangen.

119:93 Thy justifications I will never forget: for by them thou hast given me life.

119:93 Niemals will ich deine Befehle vergessen, denn durch sie hast du mich neu belebt.

119:94 I am thine, save thou me: for I have sought thy justifications.

119:94 Dein bin ich: hilf mir! Denn ich beachte deine Verordnungen.

119:95 The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I have understood thy testimonies.

119:95 Gottlose lauern mir auf, um mich umzubringen, ich aber achte auf deine Zeugnisse.

119:96 I have seen an end of all perfection: thy commandment is exceeding broad.

119:96 Von allem Vollkomm’nen habe ich eine Grenze gesehn; doch dein Gebot ist völlig unbeschränkt.

119:97 O how have I loved thy law, O Lord! it is my meditation all the day.

119:97 Wie habe ich dein Gesetz so lieb! Den ganzen Tag ist es mein Sinnen.

119:98 Through thy commandment, thou hast made me wiser than my enemies: for it is ever with me.

119:98 Weiser, als meine Feinde sind, machen mich deine Gebote, denn mein sind sie für immer.

119:99 I have understood more than all my teachers: because thy testimonies are my meditation.

119:99 Verständiger bin ich als alle meine Lehrer, denn deine Zeugnisse sind mein Sinnen.

119:100 I have had understanding above ancients: because I have sought thy commandments.

119:100 Mehr Einsicht besitz’ ich als die Greise; denn ich beobachte deine Befehle.

119:101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way: that I may keep thy words.

119:101 Von jedem bösen Pfade halte ich meinen Fuß fern, um dein Wort zu befolgen.

119:102 I have not declined from thy judgments, because thou hast set me a law.

119:102 Von deinen Rechten weiche ich nicht ab, denn du hast mich belehrt.

119:103 How sweet are thy words to my palate! more than honey to my mouth.

119:103 Wie süß sind deine Worte meinem Gaumen, süßer als Honig meinem Munde!

119:104 By thy commandments I have had understanding: therefore have I hated every way of iniquity.

119:104 Aus deinen Befehlen gewinne ich Einsicht; darum hasse ich jeglichen Lügenpfad.

119:105 Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths.

119:105 Dein Wort ist meines Fußes Leuchte und ein Licht auf meinem Wege.

119:106 I have sworn and am determined to keep the judgments of thy justice.

119:106 Ich habe geschworen und den Vorsatz gefaßt, den Verordnungen deiner Gerechtigkeit treu zu bleiben.

119:107 I have been humbled, O Lord, exceedingly: quicken thou me according to thy word.

119:107 Ich bin gar tief gebeugt: o HERR, belebe mich wieder nach deiner Verheißung!

119:108 The free offerings of my mouth make acceptable, O Lord: and teach me thy judgments.

119:108 Laß, HERR, dir gefallen die willigen Opfer meines Mundes und lehre mich deine Rechte!

119:109 My soul is continually in my hands: and I have not forgotten thy law.

119:109 Ich schwebe beständig in Todesgefahr, doch dein Gesetz vergesse ich nicht.

119:110 Sinners have laid a snare for me: but I have not erred from thy precepts.

119:110 Die Gottlosen haben mir Schlingen gelegt, aber von deinen Befehlen irre ich nicht ab.

119:111 I have purchased thy testimonies for an inheritance for ever: because they are the joy of my heart.

119:111 Deine Zeugnisse sind mein ewiger Erbbesitz, denn sie sind die Wonne meines Herzens.

119:112 I have inclined my heart to do thy justifications for ever, for the reward.

119:112 Ich neige mein Herz dazu, deine Satzungen zu erfüllen immerdar bis ans Ende.

119:113 I have hated the unjust: and have loved thy law.

119:113 Die Doppelherzigen hasse ich, aber dein Gesetz ist mir lieb.

119:114 Thou art my helper and my protector: and in thy word I have greatly hoped.

119:114 Mein Schirm und Schild bist du; auf dein Wort harre ich.

119:115 Depart from me, ye malignant: and I will search the commandments of my God.

119:115 Weicht von mir, ihr Übeltäter! Ich will die Gebote meines Gottes halten.

119:116 Uphold me according to thy word, and I shall live: and let me not be confounded in my expectation.

119:116 Stütze mich nach deiner Verheißung, daß ich lebe, und laß mich nicht in meiner Hoffnung getäuscht werden!

119:117 Help me, and I shall be saved: and I will meditate always on thy justifications.

119:117 Stärke mich, auf daß ich Heil erlange, und laß mich stets auf deine Satzungen achten!

119:118 Thou hast despised all them that fall off from thy judgments; for their thought is unjust.

119:118 Du verwirfst alle, die von deinen Satzungen abirren; denn erfolglos ist ihre Täuschung.

119:119 I have accounted all the sinners of the earth prevaricators: therefore have I loved thy testimonies.

119:119 Wie Schlacken räumst du alle Gottlosen des Landes hinweg; darum liebe ich deine Zeugnisse.

119:120 Pierce thou my flesh with thy fear: for I am afraid of thy judgments.

119:120 Aus Furcht vor dir schaudert mein Leib, und mir ist bange vor deinen Gerichten.

119:121 I have done judgment and justice: give me not up to them that slander me.

119:121 Ich habe Recht und Gerechtigkeit geübt: gib mich nicht meinen Bedrückern preis!

119:122 Uphold thy servant unto good: let not the proud calumniate me.

119:122 Tritt für deinen Knecht zu seinem Heile ein, laß die Stolzen mir nicht Gewalt antun!

119:123 My eyes have fainted after thy salvation: and for the word of thy justice.

119:123 Meine Augen schmachten nach deiner Rettung und nach der Bestätigung deiner Gerechtigkeit.

119:124 Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy: and teach me thy justifications.

119:124 Verfahre mit deinem Knecht nach deiner Gnade und lehre mich deine Satzungen!

119:125 I am thy servant: give me understanding that I may know thy testimonies.

119:125 Dein Knecht bin ich, verleihe mir Einsicht, damit ich deine Zeugnisse verstehen lerne.

119:126 It is time, O Lord, to do: they have dissipated thy law.

119:126 Zeit ist’s für den HERRN, zu handeln: sie haben ja dein Gesetz gebrochen.

119:127 Therefore have I loved thy commandments above gold and the topaz.

119:127 Darum liebe ich deine Gebote mehr als Gold und als Feingold.

119:128 Therefore was I directed to all thy commandments: I have hated all wicked ways.

119:128 Darum schätze ich alle deine Befehle als richtig; jeder Lügenpfad ist mir verhaßt.

119:129 Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore my soul hath sought them.

119:129 Wunderwerke sind deine Zeugnisse; darum hält mein Herz an ihnen fest.

119:130 The declaration of thy words giveth light: and giveth understanding to little ones.

119:130 Die Erschließung deiner Worte erleuchtet, verleiht den Einfältigen Einsicht.

119:131 I opened my mouth, and panted: because I longed for thy commandments.

119:131 Ich tue meinen Mund weit auf und lechze, denn mich verlangt nach deinen Geboten.

119:132 Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me according to the judgment of them that love thy name.

119:132 Wende dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig, wie es recht ist bei denen, die deinen Namen lieben!

119:133 Direct my steps according to thy word: and let no iniquity have dominion over me.

119:133 Laß meine Schritte fest sein durch dein Wort und laß nichts Trügerisches über mich herrschen.

119:134 Redeem me from the calumnies of men: that I may keep thy commandments.

119:134 Erlöse mich von der Bedrückung der Menschen, so will ich deine Befehle befolgen.

119:135 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thy justifications.

119:135 Laß dein Angesicht leuchten gegen deinen Knecht und lehre mich deine Satzungen.

119:136 My eyes have sent forth springs of water: because they have not kept thy law.

119:136 Tränenströme rinnen aus meinen Augen, weil viele dein Gesetz nicht befolgen.

119:137 Thou art just, O Lord: and thy judgment is right.

119:137 Gerecht bist du, o HERR, und richtig sind deine Rechte.

119:138 Thou hast commanded justice thy testimonies: and thy truth exceedingly.

119:138 In Gerechtigkeit hast du deine Zeugnisse verordnet und in unerschütterlicher Treue.
