Nunc Dimittis

Nunc dimíttis servum tuum, Dómine,

Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord, in peace;

secúndum verbum tuum in pace:

thy word has been fulfilled:

quia vidérunt óculi mei salutáre tuum,

for my own eyes have seen the salvation

quod parásti ante fáciem ómnium populórum:

which thou hast prepared in the sight of every people:

lumen ad revelatiónem géntium,

a light to reveal thee to the nations

et glóriam plébis tuæ Israël.

and the glory of thy people Israel.
