Deus meus,

O my God,

ex toto corde pǽnitet me ómnium meórum peccatórum,

Heartily I am sorry for having offended Thee,

éaque detéstor, quia peccándo,

and all my sins I detest

non solum pœnas a te iuste statútas proméritus sum,

because of Thy just punishments,

sed præsértim quia offéndi te, summum bonum,

but most of all because they offend Thee, my God,

ac dignum qui super ómnia diligáris.

who are all good and deserving of all my love.

Ídeo fírmiter propóno,

I firmly resolve,

adiuvánte grátia tua,

with the help of Thy grace,

de cétero me non peccatúrum,

to sin no more

peccandíque occasiónes próximas fugitúrum.

and the near occasions of sin to avoid.
