Ad te, beáte Ioseph, in tribulatióne nostra confúgimus,

To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our tribulation,

Zu dir, o heiliger Josef, fliehen wir in unserer Bedrängnis,

A ti, bienaventurado San José, acudimos en nuestra tribulación,

Vers vous, bienheureux saint Joseph, nous recourons dans notre tribulation,

A te, o beato Giuseppe, ricorriamo nella nostra tribolazione,

atque, imploráto Sponsae tuae sanctíssimae auxílio,

and having implored the help of your most holy Spouse,

in the struggle with the powers of darkness,

assist us from heaven;

and, as once you rescued the Child Jesus

from the gravest peril to his life,

so now defend God's holy Church

so that, supported by your example and your aid,

we may be able to live in holiness, to die in piety,
